WEEKS HAD GONE BY and eunha was still doing everything within her power to avoid heeseung. but despite the act of avoiding him physically, it was as if the memories and image of him haunted her.
he was indeed, unforgettable.
every time she and jaeyun would go on dates or even just hang out alone, from mini resemblance to familiar actions, it was all like deja vu.
all deja vu that linked back to him.

school had finally come to an end as the bell rang signally the students to be dismissed. whilst packing her books away, her classmate suddenly approached her. they were technically close enough to be called friends, but only casually.
"eunha...," rena, the girl who approached her spoke carefully.
"hm?" eunha hummed in reply as she zipped her bag securely.
"may you please substitute for me for cleaning duty today!" rena jumped straight to point as she herself, was in a hurry. "i'll take your day next time you have duty, but the reason is something important came up." her hands were now palmed together as if she was begging for consideration.
"uh..." eunha thought for a second trying to think of the best way to decline it since she was supposed to have a date with her boyfriend after school. but upon seeing her desperate expression, she had assumed it was something really urgent, to which she gave in. "okay sure."
rena practically leaped in joy as she gave eunha a quick hug before running out the classroom door.
after informing jaeyun about the sudden interruption, he offered to wait for her as he hung around the school with his other school friends.
whilst making her way back to the classroom to get her duty done, she wondered who her partner was going to be. she hoped she hadn't been set up where rena's partner was not going to show up. as she stepped inside the classroom, she was greeted by the presence of a male figure flipping the chairs upside-down onto the tables.
she must've made some noise when walking in since the person inside had turned around to see who it was.
"eunha?" his deep yet soft voice spoke. "what are you doing here?"
"i'm," she looked around almost forgetting her purpose of being here. "i'm subbing for rena."
he only nodded before getting back on to his task. eunha just stood there for a short moment before walking towards the blackboard and wiping the chalk away.
she had quite a lot on her mind right now. the fact she was doing so much to avoid him just to be put into a situation where she was forced to be alone with him. the idea of heeseung clearly minding his own business whilst she was overthinking because of him was also driving her crazy.
after erasing and cleaning the majority of the blackboard, she found another argument as to why she and luck don't go well together. she tried getting on her tippy toes in an attempt of wiping the top of the board but her height did her no justice.
she turned around, wondering if she should ask for his help but that would definitely ruin her pride. watching him stack the last chair in the front row, she quickly turned back around to think of a plan.
looking at her surrounding, she spotted a mini stool and smiled at her expectations. she was going to step on the stool and quickly clean the remaining spots at the top.
as she got on the stool, something about it felt strange. she shrugged it off as she continued to wipe the excess when the stool suddenly broke.
causing her to lose balance and knowing she was going to feel some sort of pain despite everything happening so fast, the awaiting pain did not hit her in any form.
slowly opening her eyes and processing the fact she had not fallen down was like a miracle that happens once in a blue moon. that was only until she realised how and why she hadn't fallen.
with one of his hands wrapped around the back of her waist, securing her balance and his other hand gripping onto her wrist, his worried expression said it all.
"are you alright?" he asked before slowly letting her go.
eunha feeling flustered and yet again embarrassed, instantly nodded and straightened her posture awkwardly. "thank you." she looked at him to which he reached his hand out, looking at the eraser in her hand.
at the end of all that, it was heeseung who ended up cleaning the remaining chalk on the board easily with minimal stretch out.
at one moment they had locked eyes with each other as if they were waiting for the person to speak. just as heeseung began opening his mouth, he quickly closed it as he looked towards the door.
"hey guys!" jaeyun walked in cheerfully looking slightly drained. he must've had a game of soccer with his friends was what eunha had thought.
the three of them quickly finished the leftover duties yet to be completed and as time skipped by, they were finally done.
after departing from heeseung who left for another way, both eunha and jaeyun decided to still stick with the date they had planned.
finally finding a nearby café to eat at, they both settled down as they spoke about their day. they talked about their upcoming exams and colleges they would like to attend but somehow, an unexpected topic was brought up.
"eunha, i've been meaning to ask you for a while now." jaeyun's voice was now cautious and serious.
from eunha's perspective, she remarkably did not expect what he was going to ask,
so suddenly.

"you and heeseung . . .
you two weren't just casual friends from the same school right?"
