eunha noticed his strange behavior day by day for the past few weeks. maybe he had looked normal within the image he was portrayed to be but between him and her, something was definitely up.

it was as if he was hiding something from her.

despite her attempts on checking upon him, he would always reassure her that nothing was the matter. he would always say the same things along the lines, only after a slight hesitation.

that one afternoon as heeseung and eunha were making their way back home, heeseung had suggested they walk past the han river first. without any objections, eunha agreed as she thought it was nice spending more time with her favourite person.

they sat along the river, admiring the view until heeseung said something quite unusual. but within that moment, 15 years old eunha never gave it a thorough thought.

"if i was gone one day, how would you react," he asked as he stared at the steady river flowing by.

"huh?" eunha turned to face him only to meet with his perfect side profile. "sad of course. i would feel absolutely depressed." eunha answered honestly.

16 years old heeseung sighed before asking yet another similar question. "if i was gone for who knows how long, would you still wait for me?"

"of course!" eunha ambitiously answered without a single hesitation. she didn't fully understand the context but if it was about him and time, she would wait as long as she could.

heeseung only smiled before patting her head. "then please do." he muttered before standing up and signaling it was time to go home.

as he walked her home, he took this time to admire her beauty both in and out. he smiled subconsciously upon watching her talk about whatever she wanted. every moment with heavy shoulders weighing him down.

"bye! see you tomorrow!" eunha waved but before she would enter her gate, heeseung stopped to hug her tightly.

being taken aback, she slowly returned the hug just being able to catch his murmured words. "if anything, i love you." he whispered causing butterflies to grow inside her stomach.

she smiled before returning the same words. "me too."

little did she know, that was going to be the last time she was going to spend with him for a while.

as she waited all morning on her seat feeling lonely, she stared at the messages she sent for the missing person.

< where are you? ]

< hee? ]

< r u sick or just taking a day off? ]

< i'm so bored hereee ]

< oh well class is starting now ]

< get well if ure sick <3 ]

after all, he never replied.

she never once dared to visit him since it would feel kind of impolite but days turned into weeks.

no messages, no letters, no nothing.

not a single sight of him.

she slowly made her way towards the familiar door as she knocked several times before one of the neighbour spoke.

"no one is home, my dear. they moved away to ... europe was it?" the old lady who was watering her plants spoke.

it was at that moment everything that day made sense.

the last time she had seen him where he asked her such unusual questions.

that moment the puzzle was solved was the exact moment her world fell apart.

he was gone.

in the end, he did leave her.

just like anyone else before she met him.

lee heeseung, the boy who had nothing left to do with her.

kim eunha, the girl who wanted nothing else but to see him.
