I watched as Aria continued out of the room, my head now thumping away in my skull as a result of my magic and the anxiety that had welled up inside me. One day of her being back and we're somewhat arguing already?
What she did was wrong, and I knew better than to hide that from her. She was trying her best to consider others, helping her team settle in and make it fun but...
I just wanted to laugh like we used too; I never even got the chance to talk about the orb. The rush of our magic made my head spin along with Aria's tackle during our sparring match.
Pinching the bridge of my nose in hopes of easing the tension behind my eyes and sinking further into the chair, groaning loud before rolling up my sleeves to air my arms out.
Being a God vessel had its perks; the ability to use magic of many kinds, elemental and holy attributes being my main two, and the weapons and boost to one's physical strength and healing capabilities - but it came with its own share of downfalls too.
The process of gaining all that magic and abilities came at a cost... a painful one, especially the markings part. God's my awakening was a painful week at fifteen, having completely passed out in a fever induced state. Since then, the magic within my tattoo on my arm would spark every now and then when I was in a mood, and the heat it created within my body was uncomfortable to feel under the layers I wore.
By default as a sun god vessel, I was a degree warmer than normal humans, and my counterpart, my potential moon goddess - Manae's vessel, whoever she was, would be a degree cooler; either to balance out being close to one another or the obvious fact of being the vessels of a burning ball of fire and a frozen space rock. There was also the light ringing in my ears. As if Solar was right there, feeling what I felt. I didn't have that verbal connection to him, but I knew when he was there, either as passionate or aggressive as I felt. Solar was a surprisingly emotional God, that was for sure; matched me well.
To say that I was now over heating would be an understatement though, needing to relieve my body of the heat in my current, upset state. I sat there for a while just staring off into space, too many things running through my head that I didn't hear the stairs creaking; the upcoming meeting for Miriam's council, how to distribute the new arrivals, Aria's reading and that moon...
"Jesus, do you have that effect on everyone?"
I looked over to see a blushing Aries behind me, unable to hold my eye contact as he looked me up and down, both confused and taken by me.
Didn't he bolt off after Aria tried to talk to him?
"Jesus Aries!" I stuttered, jolted from my thoughts as I pulled the sleeves down quickly, covering my skin again.
Wait... taken by me?
He isn't... is he? I thought, remembering he had seemed rather taken by Seth's little blood licking stunt earlier, who not so subtly called him out for that too. It started to make sense, slowly looking around at Aries in shock.
