"I'm going to stay here," Aries laughed, picking up his bag and pointing towards the gym. I knew he was about to do exactly as I had been doing, and unlike me -who needs the reassurance- Aries knew exactly how to cope with his own emotions and pain. He had already lived through some of the most horrific parts of life as a Tri-blood.

"Alright, you know where to find me if you need me... okay?" I shrugged, smiling at him as I stood up, picking my own bag up as he nodded, a small smile on his face. Aries waved me off, waiting till I had walked out of the training space to let loose the blast of violent wind magic now that the training space was empty of other people. I shouldn't have told him...

I was hoping to find Kieran or Seth to ask about what they had found on the Shade issue since this morning, making my way through the back entry and upstairs. I entered the common room to find Lillian leaving Seth's room, closing the door behind her quietly; motioning for me to remain quiet.

"Grim's strained, spent all day doing research for Kieran. Not to mention the exhaustion from his body speed healing a broken ankle." Lilly hummed, pulling me away from Seth's room.

"Have you been told anything yet?" I asked, walking alongside her, dropping my bag by the couch. We walked down the stairs, walking towards the cafeteria as Lillian finally raised her voice above a whisper. "Not yet, Kieran would have all the info. He's been working since you guys got back last night."

Since? God's he's going to be exhausted.

"He's been holed up in his office all day since his council candidacy meeting at 1," Lillian stated, finally speaking above a whispered tone. Yikes. That means Kieran would have had to sit in his Grandmother's presence for a solid hour while physically exhausted. Being the guild master of the only guild in Astola, as well as a candidate for Miriam's council, he would have had to let her know of the Shades spotted so close to Corsair's border. The things he tolerates in hopes of changing a few laws.

For us tri-blood's.

"He hasn't even slept yet, has he?" I asked, sighing. Kieran's always delved into work. As if nothing else mattered but whatever project he had going on. One time he even passed out in court due to spending days obsessively researching something at seventeen. I knew no matter what I did, I wouldn't be able to stop him from this rather destructive pattern, especially if he's hell bent on figuring out why the shades fled.

"No, I don't think he has honestly. Does his mini nap at ten count?" Lillian asked. Kieran you idiot, an hour after a mission is stupid. I had half a mind to storm this office and drag him to his bed.

"Kieran... you never change, huh," I said with a sigh, muttering to myself as Lillian and I waltzed into the cafeteria. Kieran's probably been living off pure work ethic at this point. I spotted the espresso menu.
