What is violence?
Some people would define it as an attempt to harm. While that may be true there violence comes in many different forms.
Sexual.
Emotional.
Psychological.
Spiritual,
And so on.
Many people would say that violence is wrong no matter the cause of origination. However, this is incorrect. Because you see the worse type of violence that exists is senseless violence. For you see if you seek to harm another purely for the sake of it with no real cause or reason you are a fool. However, when we discuss something like this we must acknowledge that America itself as a whole is violent. With the many wars, It takes part in and the many war crimes it commits not to mention the origin of its creation America is nothing but violent. It thrives off it. Now there are many reasons why this is the case. Regardless of whether you like it or not violence is something that is too deeply rooted in the human psyche. We must also acknowledge that even if a person is a pacifist by heart they committed the act of violence in one form or another. The term itself is much broader than people realize.
I say this because most people look at violence as if it was in the hands of the devil. When in reality everyone is in some way shape or form committed it themselves. Not only that, but they are living in a country that is obsessed with it.
Now comes a subject people aren't all that interested in.
Racial violence.
In short racial violence is the act of harmful intent towards a person of a specific race and or origin.
Cecilia Lambers knows that form of violence all too well.
This is just in the president of the United States is sending the national guard to Florida at the request of the governor. This is due to widespread violence in the state that doesn't seem like it's going to end anytime soon.
"You should turn that off".
Cecilia rolled her eyes. "Why? You're tired of seeing people stand up for themselves?"
Her father snorted.
Then again they weren't bonded by blood, to begin with.
"If you mean watch people in their own homes destroy homes and businesses out of pure ignorance then yes".
Cecilia knew better than to reply. After all, they had this conversation several times before and it always ended the same. Hence why she shouldn't have come here in the first place. She couldn't stand being around someone fully consumed by the capitalistic mindset. Then again her father was born into a well-off family with his father teaching him the old if you work hard enough you can do anything routine. As such he believed in hard work, dedication, and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.
"Wasting all my damn tax dollars and for what! Just because of one lone criminal who died?"
"He wasn't a criminal".
Frank snorted.
Cecilia sighed. Knowing full well what was going to happen next.
Taking a bite of his toast the older man shook his head. "You say that because the internet got you brainwashed into thinking that he was some damned hero".
Frowning the young woman made to reply. Only to get cut off by an all too familiar voice.
"If you two don't shut up!"
Knowing that they were better off doing so the pair fell silent. Frank decided to focus on his breakfast. However, by his expression alone, it was safe to say that he wasn't happy.
Cecilia meanwhile pushed her headphones into her ears before selecting a video on her phone. Once done the 26-year-old began to eat. As she did a masculine voice filled her ears.
For today's video, we are going to talk about the killing of two police officers that were done downtown.
Cecilia paused. The fork near inches from her mouth.
Officer Sasha Hans and Officer Leo King were killed in an apparent ambush not that long ago. Having been struck by two bullets right around the same time. How they were killed we're very similar to at least four other incidents that happened years apart. Some are saying that this is the work of the BFF. While others say that is an entirely different movement altogether based on the time frame. Regardless of what you believe it is clear that what is happening now will be forever life-changing.
Cecilia dropped her fork.
"Where are you going?!" Vanessa yelled upon seeing her daughter run out of the kitchen.
Her reply was the sound of the front door slamming shut.
