"...I was just a child when I felt... I was drawn to what I could not understand. An for the cause of Christ, I have spent my days believing. That what he had me be, is who I am. As I come to see the weaker side of me, I realize his grace is what I'll need. When sin demanded justice for my soul, mercy said no! I'm not gonna let you go, I'm not gonna let you slip away, you don't have to be afraid. Mercy said no, sin will never take control. Life and death stood face to face, darkness tries to steal my heart away, but thank you Jesus. Mercy said no... To set us free, but deep within our hearts..."
Serra and her elder brother stood staring at the small child singing at the top of her voice to a Gospel song. It wasn't even time for breakfast but they came to see where she was. She stood with her back to the door and facing her phone to her lips in a recording. They waited as she finishes the song then ended the voice note that seems to be sent to someone. Next was a voice that came through the speaks that Selim knew well.
"Thank you for conducting our devotion this morning, mih sweets. Let's hope grandpa can pray very soon because I did it yesterday morning. I'm hungry and on the road so daddy, pray so this small fasting can be over with. I know you won't have Luna hungry no matter what."
"Thank yuh fada god fih life, health, strength, food, mih girls dem, family and chances. Provide a loving new family for Luna and a existing love life fih mih daughta who needs a man inna har life. Put a wife inna mih path and help wih fulfill the promises we made as a family. Bless us, bless the food we eat during the day and all the person we meet. Provide a shelter, food, clean water and good health to those who desperately needs it and a smile for those who are unhappy. Now that I'm walking on the streets, praying with my eyes open and people looking at me crazy, let us all say Amen."
Luna giggles then starts typing but as she turns, she jumps back in fright at her father and aunt watching her. "Good morning."
"Good morning." They replied and Serra taps on her brother's shoulder before leaving them to talk.
"Um... Did you sleep comfortably last night?" He almost cringe, thinking how comfortable a six year old could be in a hard adult bed.
"I did, thank you. Did you sleep well last night?"
"I... Actually, I didn't." He sighs and watch as his daughter pocketed her phone. He wanted Lavanya's number and it was hard to get it last night from the persistent little girl.
"I won't cry if I'm not your daughter but mummy never lies to me, ever. Are we doing the pa... paternity test today?" She stuttered but still had her hard exterior.
He has never seen as child so serious in his life and he saw himself in her. He still couldn't put his mind around the fact that he has a daughter so big, educated and we'll mannered. He though he has to get help from his sister if Luna needed help after waking up to brush her teeth or to take a shower. She was already dress and looking fresh for the day ahead of her. He called multiple persons last night, demanding that they find the mother of his child and tell him everything they got on her. He was angrybut at the same time weak, feeling like he would cry any minute now. He did enough last night and not once had Amy answered his calls.
"Don't go looking for mummy." Luna spoke.
Selim looks into the rear mirror at the little lady sitting in a car seat that probably came the same time that she did. They were on their way to his doctor who will perform the paternity test and give him a result by tomorrow as of late.
"Why not?" He asks, focusing on the road again.
"I told you she will be back and if she don't, I have family here that will bring me home."
