"I- uhm.."
"I.. like.. you?" He said in a hesitant tone, closing his eyes expecting a smack from Yi Jie or any kind of negative reaction but nothing came
He opened his eyes to see a teary eyed Yi Jie, he couldn't read her expressions. Was she happy? Sad? Angry? He pushed those thoughts aside and scooted closer to her
"Hey, why are you crying?" Jungmo reached for the box of tissues and wiped away Yi Jie's tears while Beomgyu pats her back slowly
"Thank you" She cried out
"Thank you for liking me" She said in between her silent cries
"Mommy, why are you crying?" Fei puts down her spoonful of ice cream and sat on Yi Jie's lap, facing her and cupping her cheeks
"It's nothing, sweetie, I'm fine" She wiped her tears away and smiled at Fei
"Is it because of daddy?" The question thrown by Fei shocked her. Why is she suddenly mentioning her father? She has never even met him
"Fei, what are you saying?"
"I hear you cry a lot at night mommy, is it because you miss daddy?" She glanced at Beomgyu and Jungmo who stared confusingly for even they don't know who Fei's father is
It made Yi Jie question. Does she miss him? Does she miss the guy who dumped her? The guy who left her and their baby without giving a single shit after
"No sweetie, it's not because of your dad, I was just.. it's really nothing sweetie, I'm perfectly happy"
"If you are happy then why did you cry?"
"It's called happy tears, Fei. Now come on finish your ice cream and let's go home after this" Beomgyu interrupted and Yi Jie mouthed a thank you for saving her from Fei's curiosity
"Anyway.. guys, I have to go now, the rest are probably waiting for me, see you tomorrow" Fei pecked Jungmo's cheeks which made him giggle in adoration and he left the ice cream store after that
Not long after, the three of them also leave the store hand in hand, Fei in the middle of of Yi Jie and Beomgyu. From other people's perspective, they look like a little happy family picking up their daughter which some people found cute, especially the fact that they're all visuals
"Uncle gyu" Fei tugged Beomgyu's sleeve making them stop
"Yes, Fei?" He kneeled down and held her shoulder
"Are you my new daddy?"
"Yes, yes I am sweetie"
"Wait- WHAT?" Yi Jie who was focused on her phone but her attention immediately turned when Beomgyu unexpectedly said that. He just chuckled and smirked seeing both of their reactions. Fei was more than happy but Yi Jie was speechless
