Chapter 1

Author's Note: I highly suggest reading to chapter 28 of Jungle Juice before reading this au

Huijin ran into the wet greenhouse as soon as she got there, but the greenhouse before her was empty, other than the water and spider webs slung around. There had definitely been a fight here, but any of those involved seemed long gone. "Suchan, where are you?" She called out. 

Hyseong came in behind Huijin. "Any sign of Suchan or Dohwa? He was seen coming this way, and it looks like there was a fight...what exactly do you think is happening?"

"Nothing good." Professor Jun Ji stroked his long beard, his brow furrowed. He went over to some of the webs and wreckage of the greenhouse, squatting down to inspect them. "There are Goliath Birdeater barbs scattered around the floor too..."

Huijin bit her lip. She had been too late. There were signs of a fight, but she hadn't made it in time to help, and now she didn't have a clue as to where Suchan or Dohwa might be. She turned to a wall and punched it in frustration.

Hyseong turned to her, concerned. "Hey, the Nest will have their best out searching for them. There's no use in getting frustra-"

"But what if we had noticed something was up sooner?! What if I got to the orphanage faster? We might have been able to get here in time instead of being stuck with nothing else to follow!"

Professor Jun Ji spoke up. "There's nothing you can do about the past. You did well noticing that Dohwa was even missing and being able to get to the orphanage. Nest will take it from here and let you know if we find any leads. You two should head back to Nest now. You've done your best.

Meanwhile:

A man with lavender-white hair walked down a hallway, four leg-like appendages curving around the back of his head. Two others followed behind him. A man with a green cloak coming down from his head was carrying a white-haired girl with a scorpion tail in his arms, while the woman next to him with purple hair and a wasp stinger was carrying a dark-haired boy with dragonfly wings over her shoulder.

The group reached a door, and the light lavender-haired man stopped. "Pil, you can drop off fear Dohwa here." He nodded at the cloaked man carrying the scorpion-tailed girl. "We'll go on ahead. There's a certain pen I want for this dragonfly. The man grinned from ear to ear. "Catch up with us when you're done situating her."

The lavender-haired man continued his walk down the hallway. He stopped at a door made of thick plastic. "Here we are, Gayeon. Now let's go inside and begin the feed training." 

The two walked into the pen. The floor was dirt and grass, while the ceiling was made of similar thick plastic as the door. The ceiling curved upwards like a dome, giving plenty of space in the air. In the center of the pen was a circle of metal that looked like it could open.

"I didn't know you had a pen like this. Did you make it specifically for flyers like this one, Breeder?" Gayeon shrugged the dragonfly bot off her shoulder, letting him drop onto the grass.

"Yes." The lavender-haired man smiled. "Don't you think it's perfect for him?"

Gayeon rolled her eyes. "Let's just get on with the feed training already, alright?"

The Breeder chuckled. "Of course, that's what you're here for after all." He clicked a button on his spider earing, and the metal plate in the middle opened up. A new metal circle rose in its place with a ball of meat on it. The Breeder's smile widened. "Let's start, Gayeon."

With a swift movement, Gayeon's wasp stinger stung the dragonfly boy in the neck. After a few moments, his body got up. Gayeon leaned in close to the boy's ear and whispered. "Hey, that meat over there looks tasty. Eat it for me, won't you?" 

The boy's body started walking towards the meat. When he reached it, he knelt and took a bite, then another, and another, until he had eaten the whole piece. 

The Breeder looked at this small event gleefully while Gayeon chuckled beside him.

"Let's let him settle in. In the meantime, we need to pay a visit to Dohwa as well." The Breeder walked through the doorway. "Let's go."
