GISELLE

I was currently throwing clothes around my room looking for an outfit to wear. It's 7 am and the first day of senior year.

*ping*

I quickly grabbed my phone and looked at the person who texted me.

Sarah: Happy 1st day, I'll be at your house in 30!

Great, I had thirty minutes to find an outfit, eat breakfast, and get my backpack together.

"What the hell was I doing last night?" I thought...

I finally found a cute black flowy dress, perfect enough so I die in this hot heat, but enough to cover up and hopefully not get dress coded. I slipped on the dress and finished off the look with a pair of high end sandals my parents bought me for a 1st day of school present. I took a quick look at my appearance in my mirror. I looked presentable. My long dark brown hair was curled, my makeup was noticeable but not too much, and my outfit looked somewhat put together. I quickly grabbed my school bag and phone and ran downstairs from my room to the kitchen hoping I'd have at least a little bit of time to eat my breakfast before Sarah came.

"Tyler, can you pop a piece of bread in the toaster for me pleaseeee." I pleaded, as I grabbed some fruits in the refrigerator so I could cut them and eat for snacks later during class.

"That'll be five dollars please." Tyler stated, standing with his arms crossed.

I looked at him with a pissed off look.

"Tyler, Sarah is picking me up in like 15 minutes. I need to eat a real breakfast before school. Unlike you and Rafe who just sniff up-" Tyler cut me off before I could even finish that sentence.

"Don't finish that! I'll make you your stupid toast, asshole." Tyler said as he began putting bread in the toaster for me.

Tyler was my older brother, he was the same age as Rafe Cameron, Sarah's brother. Living in OBX and having the Cameron's as our neighbors really gave us company growing up, instead of it just being him and I. Of course with that we also picked up on habits the Cameron's did as well. For example Rafe relied on drugs... A lot. It was no doubt Tyler was going to get into them as well. Rafe Cameron was his best friend. To say Sarah and I were better would be an understatement. We had our time during the summer: Sarah had just broken up with Topper, we were going on back to back trips, our parents were constantly working/ out of town, and so... yeah. That part of our life is over and we made a promise to put that side away.

"Giselle!" Tyler said as he was holding my toast on a plate trying to pass it to me.

I was quickly snapped out of my thoughts while cutting fruit. I grabbed the plate from Tyler and quickly cut up and spread avocado paste onto the toast and topped it off with everything seasoning. Tyler took a seat across from me from the kitchen island and watched me eat my breakfast like a stalker.

"Do you want some?" I asked him with a confused look as to why he was looking at me all weird.

"Giselle do you hangout with those pogues? You know the ones that live around the cut." Tyler asked me. Of course he would be talking about them at this time.

"No I don't, I don't know why you're asking me this. You know I only hangout with Sarah and sometimes our little friend group goes out but that's it." I rolled my eyes at him as he already knew the answer to his own question.

"Good, I don't-" I quickly cut him off, tired of him talking.

"When is mom and dad coming back from Florida?" I asked, taking a bit of my avocado toast.
