The Afterlife

X-Bookstore

We enter the portal seeing the bookstore in front of us. I put mouse Ozirafel on my shoulder and then we enter it.

Inside the bookstore there are some small creatures flying around it."Those are Chinksus, they are little creatures that eat words while taking care of books. They usually live on libraries or bookstores. " I look around and finally see the person I was looking for.

" Flynn!!" The goat on the ladder looks at me and gets out of it " Alexis! What a surprise to see you here! " He goes closer to me and gives me a hug which I happily received " So nice to see you, Flynn. How's Leonel? " "She's fine, she's having a lot of work now. Apparently someone blew up a cave so she's taking care of the people injured " We stopped hugging and he looks at Ozirafel "And who is this mister?" "This is Oz-" "Don't call me that. I'm Ozirafel, I'm their caretaker and we would like to talk to you about something"

Flynn agrees silently and takes us to the back of the bookstore. There's some packed books ready for delivery and others to be put on the shelfs of the bookstore. There's also some cages that I'm going to assume its where the Chinksus sleep. 'Why does Chinksus look like its japanese? Actually a lot of things looks like are japanese. Do dead people have some fixation with Japan?'

Flynn coughs to get my attention ,which works, and makes me and Oz sit in front of him. We sit and he looks at us and asks "What do you need from me?" "Alexis can't remember of their past life. And we would like to know if you could help us with it." "That's unusual, most people remember their lives, even their lives before death! That is really weird. Are you going to need help from someone else?"

I start fidgeting my fingers and quietly look at Flynn "Timeus and Chouka..." "Timeus and Chouka?!? Al that's very risky especially Timeus. They are good options to know about your past lives but they can be very. . .manipulative. You will need to know how to not enter their weird mind games, also..there's the chance that their help won't be enough and you won't find the answers you want."

I look at the floor knowing he was right. Chouka is known for her mind tricks with her power and Timeus will do anything to get what he wants. I really need to be very careful.

I hear a little sigh from Flynn and before I knew he puts a glass ball in front of us. " I don't know what you came here to ask me and I don't even know if I will help you enough but, I think I can help a little. " He sits in front of us and touches the glass ball making it shine and it starts project something on the sky.

" There must be a reason for you to lost your memories about all your past lives. One of the reasons could be that you were a very powerful creature. There is this department, on the City of Gairu, that is responsible for the removal of memories. They do that so people with trauma forget about their bad life and try to live normally here."

As he was saying all that the glass ball projected every single information to us.

"But they are also allowed to remove memories from people who have the capacity of ruin everything in this world. I read on an old book that someone named Phillip had the power to kill Death and Life and it was a big threat to all life we know. But, because he forgot about it he couldn't know how to destroy it. Maybe that's what happened to you. Maybe you were someone important in your past lives that had that power so to protect everyone the department took your memories. I don't much about it but if you started to like things you never liked before or have connections to places you never been to then maybe that could be it. About that you need to talk to Chouka. She can see all the souls that might be connected to it and then you can see it."

As he finishes it, the glass ball stop projecting and it turns into a normal glass ball. He grabs it and puts it back in its place.

" But..if they took you memories for a reason must be. Sometimes its better not knowing who you were, it is for the better" He says while looking at me.

I look at Oz seeing that he was taking note of everything it was said. He finishes his notes and puts it on his inside pocket. "For you 2 to go to Chouka's place it would take a lot of time. I suggest you depart tomorrow morning. I will make your bags. You can sleep on the second floor, first door to the left. The second door on the right is a bathroom."

And with that he goes back to the front of the bookstore. Both Oz and I started talking to know if we should really spend the night here, and we reach the conclusion that it's for the best if we slept here. We go up the stairs and we enter the first door on the left just as he said. The bedroom is a very simple room, it has a pink-reddish flower wallpaper, it has a a queen type of bed, some photos and some place to put luggage. In other words everything a bedroom should have.

After a fair game of rock,paper, scissors I won the bed and Oz will sleep on the armchair. I launched my self on the comfy bed and I put myself inside the sheets. I see Oz transforming into a dog and lying on the armchair.

We were both very tired and it will be a long time to get to Chouka ,so, we need a good time of sleep.

" Good night , Oz" "Don't call me that. . . Good night, Alexis"

'And before you readers ask, how is it going to be a long time to get there? Can't you like teleport as you did to go to the bookstore? Well you see... I'm out of magic so I can't make portals and etc. Here's your explanation.'

After that small talk I close my eyes and..I fall asleep.
