the following day was a break from school and you had nothing else better to do. the sleep you got last night was a solid 3/10. you woke up in a sweat because in the middle of the night your father turns off your ac.

you moved your legs around the sheets in your bed just thinking about it, "ugh"

you sat up straight and looked at the alarm clock reading, "9:00 am"

why so early? you reached for your slippers underneath and walked towards your standing mirror. you turned your body to see the pajamas you were wearing. a sanrio character set you had gotten for christmas from kags sister. she knows me well-

you opened the door to the smell of HELL. you closed your door and started to cough, "ugh what is that-"

"MOM!" you raised your voice, "WHAT IS THAT?"

a knock came on your door and you leaned in, "yes?"

"hi hon" your dad spoke, "how'd you sleep?"

"fine, you?" you answered, "dad what is that smell-"

"uh alright," he hesitated, "i tried to make breakfast this morning, you know how your mother always does it-"

"i wanted to change it up a bit and..."

"you almost burned the house down" you nodded, "get it."

"can you go out for me and buy something for us?" he asked. he slipped his card underneath your door and knocked again, "by that diner your friend owns"

you picked up the card and placed it in your wallet, "kag's family doesn't own it"

"they just have close friends there"

"yeah yeah-" your dad waved his hand, "get dressed"

"okay!"

you looked out your window and saw the gloomy clouds. "time to dress bummy."
