I looked at the huge circus in front of me and at my mother as the gaunt, grey sky boomed with loud thunder.

She stood in midair whimpering in pain.

A strong invisible force held me back from helping her.

Tears rolled down my cheeks because of my helplessness and anger.

Suddenly I could move.

I took a step towards the circus but froze in my tracks when I watched my mom fall from the highest point in the circus.

"MOM" I yelled, waking up with a jolt.

"Autumn calm down...it's just a dream" Nyx said while hugging me.

"Omg is she okay?" Abby asked while handing a cup of water towards me.

"You didn't even breathe" Gabby exclaimed.

"Everything's alright girls I guess she had a nightmare...again" Nyx said a look of worry written on her face.

After gulping down some water my breathing became even.

But the girls were still eyeing me as if I just walked out from my coffin.

"I'm okay now you don't need to give me those stares" I said giving a weak chuckle.

"But Autumn..." Abby started.

"Let's just sleep hm? We have school tomorrow" I pointed out.

Abby and gabby looked at Nyx god knows why.

"Yeah, right let's get some sleep" Nyx sighed.

After turning off the lights Nyx came to me and tugged me in my bed.

"Whatever it is I'm here for you" She whispered.

<flashback>

"NOOOOO!" I shrieked as I woke up from my bed.

"Omg Autumn what's wrong" a ten year old Nyx came rushing towards me.

"I—I ... My mom—she ...I" I stuttered.

My whole body was shaking like a leaf on a tree.

"It's okay it's okay I'm here it's okay" Nyx calmed me down.

Surprisingly my shaking stopped when she held me in her arms.

Tightly.

After a really awkward silence I decided to speak.

"I'm sorry Nyx I shouldn't have woken you up"

"It's okay"

"I don't know why but these nightmares keep haunting me..."

"It's okay"

"I'm really sorry I shouldn't have yelled like that..."

"Shh it's okay Autumn it's totally fine"

"No, it's not I – maybe I should change my room..."

"NO! you're not changing any rooms... you're staying right here"

My eyes widened as she held me more tightly.

"Whatever it is I'm here for you" She whispered.

<flashback ends>

The next morning was .....well a beautiful one.
