If someone told me a year ago, that I'd be moving to the middle of nowhere- I'd have laughed them right out of the room. Yet here I am, looking through the yellow pages.... Yeah.. yellow pages, the big huge phone book delivered to your front door- or in this case, the B&B's front door. Why was I looking through the yellow pages? Well for a handy man of course.
"Any luck?" Tae asked as he came out of his room, fully dressed after his shower.
"Nope.... But we need to head to the paint store anyway. So let's just start there." I said as I closed the huge book and walked away from the small kitchen counter.
Tae handed me the keys and we headed out, locking up on our way out.
"Hungry?" He asked as we pulled up to a light across from some mom and pop eatery.
"Yeah, but I figure we'll just order Pizza or something?" I asked.
"Sure, we can do that." He replied as we turned into the little plaza where the paint store was. I parked and we got out, heading into the little paint shop. It wasn't large but there was plenty of paint to choose from.
"Designer's choice, what do you think for the main lobby?" I asked him as we looked over some glossy paints.
"Well... sunset is out of the question, and no pink or salmon.... You're aunt's wallpaper is enough to give me nightmares." He stressed, rubbing his temples. "I'm thinking..... Robbins egg blue." He noted while picking up a large container of the already mixed paint.
"One can? I think the lobby is bigger than you think?" I commented. He glared at me.
"I know that, I was just looking at this periwinkle.. and maybe... we could do this on the second floor. Various blues since your Auntie loved blue so much. It will be like.. paying respects to the woman who built and ran such an awesome B&B." He replied. "Well, it will be awesome once again once we re-open it." He grinned.
"Right. Well.. aside from painting we need someone who can point us in the direction of an electrician. No point in getting new light switches and bulbs when we have wiring issues." I reminded him.
"Small stuff." He sighed.
"It's not small stuff though. Small stuff is the painting and the overall look. But we need the important stuff fixed first." I said as we grabbed 3 large cans of periwinkle, 2 large cans of Robin's egg blue and 2 large cans of white paint to get us started. We grabbed some paint trays, brushes, roller sets and plastic coverings. We also made sure to grab a hand full of the free mixing sticks that were right at the counter.
"Well hello folks. Painting lots?" The kind looking older man said from behind the counter.
"Yeah." I smiled back, trying to be nice.
"New in town?" He asked with the same friendly smile.
"Sort of, uh I use to come here when I was a kid. My Aunt owned the B&B." I commented, figuring there was no harm in making small talk.
"Wow, so you're Ben and Bella's Niece. Wow, my gosh you certainly grew up. I remember you, when your uncle Ben painted the outside of the B&B, he brought you in here with him. I'm Henry, I own the place." He smiled and held his hand out for us to shake. I shook his hand.
"Y/N, it's nice to meet you... or re-meet you." I smiled. Tae shook his hand after me.
"Taehyung, but you can call me Tae. Nice shop you got here." He smiled his boxy smile. I ran my card through after he rang us up.
