Training finished without issue and nobody bothered to speak to the new kid. They didn't take this as people avoiding them, but as something that regular people do. You go on with your normal life and don't really care much if something new is there. They couldn't blame their classmates. They just carried on their day in silence. It's not like they were going to change Y/N's whole world or something. They were background characters in their story, just as how they were in the background of Shoji, Kirishima, everyone else's stories. You learn to ignore these things pretty quickly. They glanced at their fingers a bit through out the day. The black grew a little, more than likely from that creature they made taking so many dense and dark shadows. Mid knuckle now.
The bell rang not too long ago and the late acceptance walked home alone. Of course people stopped and stared. The uniform was the reason. UA had a very recognizable uniform. This was something they'd have to get used to. Aside from the looks and people shouting 'good luck' and encouraging things, the walk itself was boring and painfully average. Reaching their apartment, they fumbled with the keys before the got inside. Both moms were at work. Mama was a doctor and they didn't even know what their other mom did for work. Something where you can easily get a bruise or cut. Maybe construction. She was built for something big like that, broad shoulders and a strong core and upper body. They remembered watching her easily lift boxes while they moved and tried to lift the same amount. They almost pulled something lifting two boxes. When their mom saw them straining, she stepped in to help by lightening their load, adding it to hers. Setting their bag on their bed, thinking of that moment last week.
'Don't worry, hun, I'd rather you not pull a muscle and strain yourself.' is what their mom said, gently rubbing their shoulder. If they weren't tired from training today, they would totally work their ass off to be stronger like Mom. To be like her is to be tough and stern, but kind and compassionate. While her child is kind, but hasn't done anything outlanding to show they were above average for courage or compassion. All they had to do was build themselves and protect those around them, like a true hero. They chose the path that several classmates probably chose. Working even when worn down. And that's exactly what they did, training with the equipment in the spare room to get better and strong. Using the punching bag and other things in the room until they felt they were about to pass out. Getting in the last few punches were almost impossible, but they did it and felt strong.
"You're going to be incredibly sore in the morning." Eden said in the doorway, watching with a soft smile. Lowering their arms and standing normally, they looked at their Mama. She stepped into the room and gently took one of their hands in theirs and felt the black on their hands with her thumbs. She turned them over and massaged their tense palm. It was relaxing to them. Things like this usually were. The soft comfort and nonverbal love of their Mama was something they always adored. She looked at their face, bearing the smile of a proud parent. "You're doing so well, I love you so much. I'm proud of you." She whispered before reaching towards their face. She waited a second. They nudge their head towards her. She held their face and gave them a soft kiss to the forehead. "You work so hard, Mom and I are so happy you get these opportunities. You deserve them." She said. Tears began to well up in their eyes. They smiled.
"Thank you, Mama. Can... Can i have a hug..?" They asked, mumbling the last part. Eden nodded and opened her plushy and warm arms. She was always open for hugs. They remembered when they found a lost child in an amusement park, Eden had calmly cradled them while they cried for their parents. They waited for an hour until the parents finally got to reception, asking if they found a missing kid. That was the one they found. The kid was asleep, and given back to the family. They had several kids so it'd make sense for one to wander and them not notice because they see most of them when looking at everyone. Thinking back to Eden's words just seconds ago, it filled their chest with warmth and love. They were so happy to have in incredible parent like her. They lifted their head a little, still hugging, and saw their Mom. She leaned on the doorway, muscular arms crossed. Her dark hair was tied into a braid, resembling her people.
Y/N was very aware of their parents histories. Eden is a black and brizilian mixed woman who moved to American just for a few years to know how to handle specific things, like gunshot wounds. Guns were banned in Japan, so she went there for the real life experience. While she was working, she met May, who had a household accident and needed stitching. May is visibly of native decent, unknowing of her tribe or percentage. But she still follows a few traditions, like the three string braid and not cutting your hair. The two hit it off almost immediately after May complimented her horns. Soon enough, the two were in a relationship, and within eight years, married. Now they were still married, adopted Y/N a few months after their third anniversary. They got discouraged by so many adopting agencies in Japan for their relationship and races. One even said 'it has to be a crime for you people to want a child, infecting it with your Indian idiocy.' But that didn't stop them. They brought home Y/N and have been happy since. They didn't take no for an answer when they saw the child they would adopt. They fought to bring them home, and it was worth it for warm moments like this. It didn't bother them that their parents were interracial or lgbtq, they accepted this more than anything.
Without any words, May joined the embraced of her child, expressing her love through temple kisses and humming. It was a very hard day for Y/N and they knew that, so they give nothing but comfort to their child. From hard and exhausting, to loved, proud of and cared for. It was so warm. When they broke up the hug, Eden cooked tonights dinner. They talked about their days, mainly how Y/n's first day was. They loved hearing them talk. When dinner was finished, they helped May with the dishes and cleaning up. When they were about to go to bed, May gave them a hug.
"I love you, Y/n. Get a lot of rest, you'll need it." She smiled. And that was it for the night.

Disclaimer about Eden's ethnicity/race: I'm not 100% sure if that would be called mixed with hispanic??? Or just black??? Or just black and bazilian mixed?? I'm white, and I want to be right about this. If I'm wrong, tell me!!
