John stops me before I walk to my next class.
John: Are you dating Nathan? Don't lie to me.
Jaden: No Nathan is straight. He wouldn't even wanna date me.
John: I think you're lying to me.
Jaden: Well I'm not.
John stares at me like a hawk.
Jaden: Omg you're doing it again.
John: Are you dating Nathan for the last time?
Jaden: Maybe.
John: OMG bro what?!?!
John: I thought Nathan was straight. Well he did seem a little homo in the locker room. I'm not gonna lie. Hmmm...
I put my hands on John's shoulders and looked him straight in the eyes.
Jaden: You can not tell ANYBODY!! Not your friends, not your girlfriend, not even your parents.
John: I promise.
Jaden: Please John do not tell anybody!!!
John: I won't I promise!
John puts his pinky out to me. I put my pinky out and we made a pinky promise. John and I walk separately to our electives. My first elective is PE. I fucking hate PE, because I have to do physical activities. The only one I like doing is volleyball. I walk in the gymnasium. I have no friends in this class. My ex friend Jada ditched me for her new boyfriend. I sit in my group.
Ms. Shanell: Okay everyone before we get started we have a new student. This is Mel. Her pronouns are she/her-
Jada's Bf aka Brandon *loudly*: What the fuck are pronouns?
Random LGBT+ Kid: Its words you use instead of your name.
Brandon: What are my "pronouns"?
Random LGBT+ Kid: I'm guessing he/him?
Jada's Bf: Yeah cause I'm a BOY HAHA!
Awkward silence.
Jada: *laughs* Omg babe you're so funny.
Ms. Shanell: Back to Mel. Let me find a group for you honey.
Ms. Shanell scans every group and focuses on mine.
Ms. Shanell: Go to group three for me honey.
Mel walks over to my group and sits down. Someone in our group says hi to Mel, but Mel doesn't respond. She might be a weirdo I'm thinking.
Ms. Shanell: Okay so today we're going to be practicing volleyball passes.
Jaden *quietly*: YES!
Ms. Shanell: With Mr. Beck's class.
Jaden *quietly*: FUCK!
Nathan is in Mr. Beck's class.
Ms. Shanell: Ok everyone get up and walk to the other side of the gym.
The whole class goes and sits next to Mr. Beck's class. Nathan sees me but I act like I don't.
Mr. Beck: Everyone partner up.
The whole class gets up and grabs a partner. Nathan walks up to me but I walk away.
Jada: Babe wanna be partners?
