The soft snowflakes sprinkle in the city of Seoul. Most of the icy drizzle high fogging her eyes, as Lily treks towards her house. She dusts the snow from her head and sighs in an ache. The snowflakes brought the flashes of people who lost their lives in front of her eyes. Just like snow, they fell and spread cold chills throughout the life of their close ones.
Conclusion is,
Life is a bitch.
A jangle of the bell and running footsteps approached the door. In a course of few instants, it flings open. Ah-In grimaces with a broom in her hand and Lily instantly leaps back.
"Get your ass back here!" Ah-In yells, motioning her to step closer.
"Mom! Sorry, please," The chubby girl holds her ears, not embarrassed that neighbors are looking at them. The neighborhood is used to the duo being chaotic. They enjoyed the mother-daughter drama with a cup of tea in their hands.
"How can you not even call me once?" she asks with a look of grief.
"I am sorry. My phone broke. I promise I won't do it again!" Lily pledges, keeping her hand on her heart.
"Why are you beating my poor child?" a groggy voice asks and Lily smiles when the neighborhood grandma jumps for her rescue
"Don't attempt to protect her this time grandma Lara. She often makes me anxious by ghosting me," Ah-In takes a notch and Lily shuffles closer to grandma."Just let her in. She looks weary and Lily, drop by later. I made your favorite cookies. It's good to see that you are fine," grandma Lara pats her head with an adorable smile. She's a plump lady in her 60s, she lives alone and sometimes her son would visit her. As soon as Ah-In and Lily moved to Seoul, she was the first one to extend a hand of friendship towards them.
Ah- In allows Lily into the house then examines her body with a frown.
"Have you not been eating well? You lost quite a weight, Lily. Where in the world did you chubby cheeks go."
"Really? Then please feed me some tasty food, I am fed of eating bread," Lily grumbles, dragging her bag towards the divan.
"Okay, go and take a warm bath. Yesterday I brought lavender essential oil, you can use it to feel relax," Ah-In pats her daughter's head and struts into the kitchen.
Lily smiles, breathing in the homely scent that she missed like crazy. She checks her phone, scaling upstairs to her room. No texts from him.
It's been three days since she fled from North Korea and directly steered to Ulsan. Lily kept marveling when he would be back, as Jimin said they would be back in four days or so. Two days ago, even the medical teams were sent back to their respective cities as North Korea finally begin a fresh start.
Thereon bathing, Lily again scans her phone and stumbles upon the hospital groups. They were organizing a mini party in celebration of the doctors coming back sound and safe.
Jackson, Ara, and Lily agree to bestow them with their presence together. After eating a bit she surges to get ready, getting dressed in comfortable yet classy clothes has forever been her rationale. She looks for the outfit and smiles when his voice rings her mind.
"You are beautiful, beautiful than the stars."
For the first time, she doesn't think about her body and wears she whatever wants. The dress strangely hung loosely around her body, the ultimate proof that she lost weight. Lily feels odd cause despite pulling on various diet plans, she never lost a pound, but her visit to North Korea did.
