By the time all three of us were seated with food, we'd been sat in silence for a good 20 minutes and I'd had enough. However, jus as I went to break the ice my father came at me with a rather unexpected question that put a look of confusion on both mine and Faewn's faces.
Mr.Faron: so, you wanna explain to me what kind of animal you and Luca Snuck into the Grey's house yesterday?
My throat ran dry at first, but then I remembered what we were actually doing and I couldn't hold back the laughter. Holy fuck, my dad thought we had brought a pet into the bedroom. I knew right then and there that there was gonna be no way for me to escape this talk.
Me: dad, we didn't.
Mr.Faron: I beg your pardon? I heard those growls yesterday boy so you better tell the truth.
Faewn: I'm so confused
Me: those growls weren't an animal, they were Luca.I watched Faewn's face redden as he caught on to what happened yesterday and tried not to laugh.
Mr.Faron: Luca was growling? You better explain Kenzo!
Me: dad, this isn't easy for me to say, I kinda wanted this to stay a secret.
Mr.Faron: yeah that's not happening, spill the tea.
Me: I fell asleep cuddling Luca like we used to do when we were kids.
Mr.Faron: uh huh...continue
Me: but I woke up to find he had morning wood.My dads face crossed over a look of shock and disappointment all at once and my throat dried up. I tried so hard not to cry as he turned to me with heartbroken eyes.
Mr.Faron: you lost your virginity to a guy, Kenzo?
Instantly I choked on my drink and burst out laughing as did Faewn.
Me: hell no! I sucked him off dad, he asked for help and I helped him.
My dad seemed a little more relieved by that but I could smell the burning of cogs turning in his head. His next sentence threw me into a silent spell.
Mr.Faron: so you're gay? You like guys?
For a good 25 minutes I finished my food and drink without answering. Faewn passed me his number and winked before leaving.
Faewn: I got an appointment to get to, but thank you for lunch. And keep me updated about Luca,k Z?
Me: sure. Bye.
Faewn: Adios!
Mr.Faron: lets continue this conversation while we shop.My words were still stuck in my throat, truth was I didn't know whether or not I was gay. I mean don't get me wrong, Luca's hot as fuck but I don't know if I'm gay or Bi or Pansexual or what I am. I hadn't ever thought about it.
Walking around the shop my dad stopped in the clothes isle to look at shirts as I wondered around the corner. Not too far from dad but far enough that I caught a scene I probably shouldn't have witnessed.
Pressed against the wall was Faewn, his wrists bound and a hand over his mouth as he struggled in the grip of his own father. My stomach flipped in a sickened rage and without thinking I pulled up my foot and slammed it into the nearest railings of clothes sending it straight into Faewn's dad.
Blinded by rage I grabbed my childhood friend and snapped the rope off his wrists ignoring the rope burn it caused as Faewn cried into my neck. Something dominant and angry surfaced as I wrapped my arms around him and walked him into the nearest bathroom to clean up.
Me: didn't we promise as kids not to keep secrets?
Faewn: I'm so sorry Kenzo, I never wanted you to see me like this. His honey glazed eyes with shut tight as if in pain while tears ran down his eyes. I noticed the white stains on the front of his clothes and let out an angry snarl.
Me: how long has he been raping you?
Faewn: since I came back.Unable to handle my anger I pulled out my purse and marched towards the clothing isle. Running past my dad who called out to me as I took the new outfit and lighter to the self checkout.
