Encountering the devil

The guy who had caught me from falling into the ditch had midnight blue hair and startling golden brown eyes. Pulling me away from the edge, he offered me a soft smile.

Midnight boy: you okay?
Me: yeah thanks for that.
Midnight boy: you're welcome, you should stay away from ditches.
Me: noted, who the fuck are you?

I gestured to the taller red haired male who had appeared seemingly out of nowhere, with vivid green eyes. If looks could kill I told myself as I got up off the ground.

Red boy: i don't know who you think you are, but you can back off my man right now!!

Branches snapped underfoot as he walked closer, the scoul on his face told me everything. I definitely preferred the soft nature of the Blue haired boy.

Me: woah woah, I wasn't-
Red boy: save your breath.
Midnight boy: Nova, it's fine babe. He didn't do anything, he just slipped?
Nova-Riot: and fell on top of you?

I hadn't noticed I had landed on top of the blue boy when I was pulled away from the edge but apparently Nova had, and he was pissed about it. I stumbled back, falling onto the edge of the ditch, one more shuffle back and I'd fall in.

Nova-Riot: you're too kind hearted Alistar!
Alistar: and you're too jealous Nova!

That seemed to stop Nova in his tracks, the red head spun on Alistar and walked over to him, pinning him against the nearest tree as he began to whisper something between neck kisses.

Faewn: can't you two keep it PG? wait, Kenzo?!
Me: Faewn, wtf is going on?

Faewn came over to help me off the ground, minding my broken hand as he smiled. I was finally glad to find someone familiar after being surrounded by the hot and cold couple who had started engaging in a steamy make out session against the tree.

Me: they do that often?
Faewn: they've been through hell together, it doesn't surprise me how in love they are.
Me: jealous?
Faewn: cmon Kenzo, that was cruel!
Me: sorry.
Faewn: what on earth are you doing in the woods anyway and not in the hospital like you should be?
Me: it doesn't even matter!
Faewn: hm, give me a sec.

I watched as Faewn walked towards Alistar and Nova, typing away on his phone. I sat down on a relatively clean log as thoughts ran through my mind. Images of Luca, pinning that black haired girl to the wall as she moaned into his mouth.

The thought made me sick with jealousy and rage, unable to cope with the feelings  I curled up in a ball and began to silently cry. Why does everything always fuck up around me?!

Alistar: cmon Kid, lets get the hell out of here.

Slowly I uncurled myself and followed them alongside Faewn. My mind still spinning with questions and stained by jealousy. I didn't want to think anymore, I just wanted it all to go away.

The place we walked to was a huge, oak tree. the middle hollowed out and bunched in its branches was a huge modern looking tree house.

Nova: quiet like, you'll scare the animals.
Alistar: I'll lock the door behind us.

I followed in silence as we walked up the oaken stairs and onto the front porch of the tree house, solar powered lights hung from branches as Nova unlocked the front door.

Nova-Riot: shoes off please.
Faewn: mind If I use the toilet?
Alistar: you should be used to not asking by now Faewn.

Faewn let out a light laugh as he disappeared, leaving me alone with Alistar. Nova had made a swift exit as soon as we got inside.

Alistar: don't mind Nova, we're building an extension so he's trying to get it done as soon as possible.
Me: that's fine, he's not the best company.

Alistar laughed as he flicked the kettle on.

Alistar: he can be cold to begin with, but he's actually just a big softie.
Me: I find that hard to believe.
Alistar: haha! Well you don't know him that well yet. Coffee?
Me: ah no, I only drink Tea.
Alistar: we've got that too. Sugar?
Me: two and milk please.
