Hera and Zeus
I have trashtalked this couple a lot of times from the preceeding chapters. Both of them has to be the definition of toxic relationship next to Kronos and Rhea.
But let's not talk about their relationship. I'm going to tell you the time Hera called it 'quits' and decided to overthrow Zeus.
Spoiler alert: It failed.
Anyway, one faithful day, Hera realized that Zeus is a shitty ruler and a shittier husband (pardon the words). Apparently, Athena was actually destinied to overthrow Zeus. So the two of them conspired to chain him in his throne forever.
They recruited Poseidon because they believe he is much stronger than Zeus. Donny told me about it and I was like, "Nu-uh bruh, that ain't a good idea. " He respects and believes my opinion so naturally, he ignored it.
I don't know how they did it, but I just woke up one day and the three of them started to drug Zeus and tied him up. They got the drugs from Hypnos and the chains from Hephaestus.
I confronted Donny about it but he just said that Zeus is not a good leader. As if that's new, I mean, everyone knows that. Duh.
Unbeknownst to them, Briareus, my son in-law (Kymo's hubby), is indebted to Zeus. He didn't hesitate to release Zeus from the chains.
I could still remember the loudest thunder I have ever heard. Lightning cracked in the sky as Zeus retrieved his thunderbolt. The gods that joined the mini- rebellion begged for mercy and my husband asked for forgiveness.
Out of respect as Briareus' father in-law and Athena as his favorite child, he didn't punish them much. But Hera was not spared.
She was hanged upside down in the sky and tied in golden chains. As I swam to the surface, I saw her dangling like an earring, shouting for help and mercy. Out of fear, no one help her.
When Donny got home, I refused to talk to him for a week. He tried his best to create a conversation but I just replied him with a glare. That ought to shut him up.
Eventually, Zeus untied Hera and made her promise not to do it again. Of course she said 'yes' and their lives went back to usual.
I also forgave Donny for joining the mini rebellion. I talked to him again and he felt relieved. Throughout the whole ordeal, I realized something.
Whenever we had a fight or misunderstanding, he will stay at the palace and never leave until we made peace. That means that he didn't go to any of his lovers and busied himself in running the kingdom.
Or maybe it's just me and my thoughts. Either way, what did I learn from the whole fiasco?
Well, rebellion without a concrete plan is stupid. And Hera cannot escape the nightmare that is Zeus unless she dies. Which is also a bummer because she's immortal.
Author's note: Hi everyone (or to those who are still here)! I apologize for not updating this story (more like anthology) for years since I entered college and I have been so busy I almost forgot I have this. Ever since I wrote this story, I wanna thank those who took the time to read and those who attempted to read because it was what kept me going those times. I can't promise to update this story as often as I could because I am working on another story right now (check it out!) but I'll try my very best. See you and have a good day ahead!
