c h a p t e r ~ 4

Weeks went by really quickly and Jake's birthday was right around the corner.

While I was having some conversations with Jake i came to know that his sister Julia studied in grade 7 which means she was 1 yrs elder than us

I wanted to get him a gift for his birthday thus asked him about his likings and stuffs but he wouldn't tell me, maybe because he knows my intentions. Since he wouldn't spill a word I decided to meet up with his sister and talk to her the coming day at school.

As usual I got up, proceeded with my morning routine and got in the car to go to school. I met mi Rae and haneul at the gate , sunghoon and Jake were also walking towards the main entrance. We wished each other good morning and went our separate ways to our respective classes.

"So you are going to talk to Jake's sister today?" Mi Rae asked to which haneul added
"When will you meet her?"

"Uh I'll meet her during our short break. I've seen her in the volleyball court many times during that time of the day"

"Oh okay hope you will get an idea what present to get for Jake this time" haneul said patting on my shoulder

"Hope so"
I just hope we have a better conversation this time unlike that day. I thought to myself.

After a few classes it was finally break time. I got up from my seat and ran towards vb court as soon as possible.
I sat down on the bench and waited for Julia to come.

After a few minutes I saw her coming towards the court with 2 other girls behind her.

I got up and walked towards her

"Hello unnie Julia"

"Oh hi there, if I'm not wrong you are the girl who was with my brother that day. Right?"

"Yep! You remember me ?"

"Of course I do and I'm sorry for the way acted up that day I have the habit of speaking what I think so it just came out"

" It's completely fine. Oh umm I wanted to ask you something"

"Yea? Goon"

"Since Jake's birthday is coming up soon I wanted to gift him something but I don't know his likings could you please help me out?"

"Oh hmm he has everything in the world that he could ask for, he doesn't need anything honestly but I'm sure he'd be delighted to receive something you make with your hands"

"My hands?"

"I mean something handmade which would include your love and effort into it"

"Oh okay thank you unnie I'll get going now byee"

After that I left and on the way back to the class I thought about what I could make for him.

Julia's pov

"Hey who was that?" Yonnie asked
(Here Yonnie is one of Julia's friend)

"Oh that girl ? she seems to be my brother's friend. I heard that her family is super rich like ours so I guess it'd be fine to talk to her since she matches our standards"

"Ahh that's why I was wondering why you were really nice toward her."

Y/n's pov

Well that went pretty well. Didn't expect her to be this nice comparing to our encounter before. Guess Jake's sister isn't as mean as I imaged her in my head.

I walked into the class to find mirae and haneul eagerly waiting for me to come back. As soon as I entered the class they reach out to me and ask

"How'd it go? Was she mean? What did y'all talk about? Did you get the answer?"
Haneul asked simultaneously

"Calm down, how will she reply to so many questions" mirae added

"It went really well girls chill. She wasn't mean at all. I asked her about Jake's likings and she asked me to make something myself and gift him because he doesn't need anything right now"

"Sounds good, well what will you make?" Haneul asked

"I don't know... Suggestions are accepted. Anything in y'all's head?"

"You need to gift something that he can keep it for a long time so that he keeps getting reminded of you while looking at it" mirae said

We thought about it for awhile but it was already time for our next class so we went back to our seats. I couldn't concentrate as I was busy thinking about the gift.

As I was wondering about it, an idea hit me and I got up from my seat and exclaimed "YES!!"
I thought I exclaimed in my head but it came out too loud. Now the whole class was staring at me and were laughing.

The teacher asked "do you have anything to say?"
"Oh no sorry"
"It's okay you may sit"

I sat back on my seat. Well that was embarrassing. I then looked at the twins who were already looking at me. I gave them a smile and whispered "I have an idea"
They looked at each other confused and looked at their books again.

At lunch break I told them the idea
"Should I make him a muffler ?"

"A muffler?" both of them asked.

"Ya my mom is teaching me knitting these days and I guess I can try it out"

"Your idea sounds really good. Have you knitted anything before?" Mirae asked

"No I haven't i find it really tough but I might get hang of it soon"

"So this will be your first time every knitting yourself. Ooo special gift" haneul added

"Hehe ya.."

"Ohh that's nice. Can we join you too we also want to learn?" Mirae asked with a sparkling eyes

"Yes sure!! You guys can come over to my place during the weekends. I'll ask my mom to teach us"

"Yay so let's meet on Saturday then?" Haneul asked

"Yes sure!!"

With that we started walking towards the cafeteria to have our lunch.

I hope this gift will be as special for him as it is for me...
