c h a p t e r ~ 5

I got home that day and started to knit but I kept on messing up and got really annoyed.
"Uhhh !! I won't be able to make it on time"

"What will you not be able to make on time ?" Niki asked entering my room

"Yaa you should knock before coming in!!!"

"Okok chill I'll keep that in mind next time. Anyways what are you doing ?"

"I'm trying to-"
Wait I can't tell him what if he spills it out to Jake can't trust this guy

"Hmm?"
"Uhh Nothing my friends are coming over Tomorrow so I was getting stuffs ready"

"Well i clearly heard you say I WONT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT ON TIME. What was that about"
He looks around "are you knitting something?"

Should I just tell him? I'm really bad at lying. Ya I should just tell him.
"Ya I'm knitting a muffler"

"For? Oh wait is it a birthday gift for Jake???!!!"

"Uhh kinda but I'm not sure I keep messing it up"

"I have never seen you work this hard to gift any of your friends. Ooo someone's got a crush huh *teasing face*"

"Oohh shut up and help me"

We spent hours trying to figure out the right way and the right pattern after some time I was getting hang of it and it was going smoothly

It was too much of work I started to get bored of it but since it was for Jake I was more invested into it.
 
Why was I trying so hard just for him?
When Niki said that I might have a crush on him it felt weird. Is he right? or maybe he is just really nice and everyone likes him...

Next day

Mom was preparing lunch for everyone. Mirae and hanuel were on their way to my house.
"All done!" Mon exclaimed
"I know you're really busy but thanks alot for saving some of your time for us mom"
"I'm always free for my kids"
She smiled and walked away and I sat on the table waiting for the door bell to ring.

After a few minutes the bell rang and I ran towards the door and said"you guys are late you know" while opening the door but the person on the doorstep wasn't them. It was Jake.

"I'm late?"
"h-hi  Jake. Oh haha no I thought mirae and hanuel were here"
"They are coming too?"
"Yep. Why are you here though?"
"Oh Niki invited me, didn't he tell you?"
"Nope...aha anyways come in welcome to our home"
"Thanks! Oh and you look pretty in that dress!!"

My heart skipped a beat when he said that.
"Aah-ahh t-thankss hehe" I could feel my cheeks burning at this point.

"Ayy Jake!" Niki shouted from the staircase "come here"

"Okayy! Coming I'll go for now see ya y/n" with that he left.

Soon after mirae, haneul and sunghoon arrived too. Mom called us out to have our lunch. Everyone sat down and started to have their lunch.

"Your mom cooks really delicious food" Jake said to which everyone nodded and agreed.
"Well thanks and you guys can come anytime to have my handmade food" mom said while entering the room
"Yes aunty" haneul added.

After lunch we got back to our knitting and the boys were in Niki's room.

"Y/n you are really good at it" mirae said
"Aha thanks but I still can't do it properly."
"So you are really going to gift this muffler to him" haneul said in a teasing way, but she forgot that my mom was still there with us.
"Ay shh-"
"Gift and him. What is going on girls" mom asked.

We didn't know what to do but I couldn't hide anything from my mom so I told her about the muffler I was knitting for Jake to gift him for his birthday.

"Oh that's so sweet. Do you like him or something?" Mom asked

"Why is everyone asking me if I like him?"

"It's pretty clear that you do like him y/n" haneul said

Was it really that obvious? I myself don't know my feelings towards him...
"Hmm.." I avoided eye contact with a of them.Everyone in the room laughed it off.

"You should knit your name in small letters at the end. He will keep getting reminded of you *wink*" mirae added

"Ya do that"

"Guys! Writing my name will be too muchh"

"If you don't want to write your name you can use our company logo that is used only in your and Niki's cloths" mom suggested.

I thought about it for a while and agreed to it. Mom asked her assistant to bring her an attachable logo.
We spent alot of time knitting, chit-chatting, now it was time for the twin sisters to leave. We said our goodbyes and they left.

As me and mom were clearing up the table Niki walked in and asked if the boys could stay overnight today. My mom had problem with it so she contacted their parents and  they stayed. I was feeling lonely in my room so decided to hang out with Niki and all.

I knocked and got in
"What are you guys doing?"
"Hey y/n come, we are playing video games join us" sunghoon said
"I'm too tired right now I'll watch you guys play"

As they were playing the electricity got cut off and since they were playing a game called residential evil, everyone kinda screamed... Well that was Weird, boys sound like girls while screaming haha. Niki got up and walked towards his bedside table to grab the torch. We couldn't see eachother but I could sense someone coming towards me I tried to speak but it was too late the person banged their foot on the bed and fell right on top of me. Niki turned on the torch and showed it towards our direction....

"Y/n, Jake what are you guys doing?" Niki said
It was Jake who fell on top of me and now we were in a very awakward position. His face was too close to mine, my heart was pounding and I could see Jake's cheeks growing red too. What a mess.

"It's not what it looks like" Jake tried to get up instead fell down again but this time on top of sunghoon who was scared and was waiting for someone to pick him up.

Everyone sat on Niki's bed and waited for the electricity to come back.
"Ugh This inverter had to stop working today! We were so close to winning" Niki said.
"It's okay we can play again next time" sunghoon added

Jake was silent for quite awhile now. Did that incident make him feel uncomfortable? I wanted to talk to him but it was too awakward. As I was gonna break the silence..

"These moments will be missed." Jake said
"What do you mean?" Niki asked

"Well we had a great time. Since Niki joined me and sunghoon it has been really fun. We were only 2 back then and used to be lonely most of the time but now we are 6 of us and although mirae and hanuel aren't present right now, we have had alot of fun in school , at my place last time and so many more, but if you guys move back to Japan we would be lonely again and all these moments that we spent together would be missed alot"

His words made everyone in the room emotional a bit. This boy was really mature compared to his age.

"Don't worry even if we move back we will be sure to visit from time to time and we will have cellphones so we can call eachother and keep in touch" Niki said

"Yep we will make sure you guys are never alone again"

With that all of us smiled at each other hugged tightly.  This felt nice. I had real friends for sure this time and maybe a special person too....
