Captain Mitchell's office was deadly silent as I waited for him to return. This morning I was escorted from my spot beside Skye in the med bay to the chair beside his desk by two burly men from security. I bit the inside of my cheek as the clock on the wall ticked with every second that passed.

The door swung open startling me, "I'm sure you know why you're here Nova."

I turned and watched Captain Mitchell drop some files onto his desk before sitting down in his leather desk chair, "Would you care to remind me?"

"Defying the search party and running off without any backup," he said.

"It wasn't without orders, Carter-"

"Carter was already called in earlier to discuss him defying his position and status to give his superior an order, we're talking about you now."

I swallowed hard.

"Trust me, we're not going to dismiss you from your position at Lightspeed but your behavior must be discussed."

"I'm sorry for defying orders sir but your daughters life was at stake," I said, my voice sounded weak.

Captain Mitchell sighed, "I'm aware, but it must be stated that if you defy orders like this again you will be demoted or asked to leave Lightspeed completely."

I nodded silently.

Captain Mitchell leaned forward, lowering his voice, "At the end of the day, you did help discover the imposter and save Lightspeed, for that I have to thank you. It was something your father definitely would have done. You're still one of the best that Lightspeed has ever seen."

I smiled brightly as he stuck out his hand for me to shake.

"Now, Dana and I are going to check on Skye. Are you coming?"

"I stayed with her all last night and this morning, I should really check on the Rangers."

He nodded, "Alright, keep me updated. You're dismissed."

I left to track down the other Rangers. I checked up on each of them in their rooms and found out that Olympius had also trapped them in the star necklace but were released when Carter knocked him into the water. I relieved them of training for the day since a rest day was definitely needed due to yesterday's events.

"Nova!"

I turned to see Ryan jog down the hallway to catch up to me.

"Wanna grab lunch?"

I looked down at my com, "Is it already that late?"

"It's almost one thirty," he said, "Let's go get some food."

I nodded as he fell into step beside me, "I'm pretty sure Skye got discharged earlier. I was with the Captain."

"What for?"

I sighed, "For running off."

He scoffed with a bright smile, "Oh come on, you saved Skye and helped save Lightspeed."

"Yes but I did defy a direct order to call off the search parties. And I ran off without backup."

"If anyone was going to do it, at least it was you. You're the most capable of defending yourself," he said.

I sighed, "Yes, but I'm not a Ranger. You guys have your suits to protect you."

"Okay I see his point," he said.
