Vlado POV
"Have you figured out any new information yet, Theo?" I turned my head to look at Mattheo. Romero, Clarke, Theo, and I were sitting in my office. We had spent the last few hours in here discussing the leak.
Mattheo shook his head. I let out a sigh. I've been stressed out for some time about the leak within my group. I had trusted each one of them, but it turns out that one of them worked for another mafia group. I had to figure out who it was before it got out of hand.
"We need to figure out who the leak is soon. We can't risk any more information to be given to others."
"We should send them on some missions, so nothing seems unusual," Clarke suggested and I nodded in agreement. "Maybe on the raid later tonight. It would be sudden, but it'd work." I thought for a moment. We were going to go on a simple raid late this evening to stop another group from shooting down a local alliance we had.
"I don't think we need everybody for that. We can just send Rowan, Rosa, and Scarlett. You three can go along with them." The three opposite me nodded in unison.
"Now that that has been sorted, you are all dismissed. I wish you well on the raid tonight." They all say their goodbyes and left my office. I spun in my chair with a sigh, facing the window. I needed to clear my head. I stood and walked over to the window, going to do just that. I gazed out the window, looking at the ground outside. I saw people in the garden by the plants, and I felt my heartbeat faster when they turned around. Leah focused on the plants in front of her, her lips moving as she spoke to Mary. I wonder what her lips would feel like on mine.
She tilted her head back and laughed at whatever Mary said, and I felt my heart flutter. I don't know why, but whenever I saw Leah happy, it made me happy. I don't understand how it worked or why, and I don't know why I liked it, but I couldn't help it. I enjoyed the short amount of time that I had spent with her, although I hope she will let me spend more time with her.
What's happening to me? Why am I thinking like this? I should not be distracted at a time like this. I need to be focused on the leak.
I sat back down at my desk in an attempt to get some work done, but my mind kept wandering back to the owner of those green eyes.

Romero POV
"Everyone ready to go?" I turned to everybody behind me. There were are series of 'yes's from me the five and I turned back around.
"Then we are off." I led us through the front door and to the cars in the driveway.
"Clarke, Mattheo, and I will go in the first car, Rosa, Scarlett, and Rowan will go in the other." I didn't turn around as I addressed them and walked over to the closest car. The cars were pitch black and had darkly tinted windows.
I entered the driver's side of the car, followed by Clarke and Theo. I heard the 'click' of my seatbelt and looked in the rearview mirror to look at the car behind me. I saw the three get in, Rosa driving, and heard the engine start. I took that as a signal to pull the car out of the driveway and headed in the direction of the raid.

I looked through the scope of my sniper. I hid behind a series of barrels along with Theo and Clarke, waiting for any sort of arrival. I saw Rose, Rowan, and Scarlett hiding behind barrels on the opposite end of the dim room.
We arrived at the warehouse an hour ago, which gave us enough time to get into position. The warehouse was empty but well kept. It was covered in dark colours on the outside, matching the tin roof. Although the warehouse wasn't abandoned, it didn't have many lights that worked. Half of the lights were broken, and those that worked gave off a weak light.
I held the barrel tighter when I heard a door slam shut. There was a tense silence as the six of us waited, cautious for the arrival of the group. We had made sure to alert our local alliance of the raid, so they had already left when we arrived.
There were footsteps getting louder and louder as they walked through the warehouse. It sounded like there were more than five people. That thought made me anxious. Our sources said that there were only going to be one or two people arriving. So either our sources were wrong.
Or there was a sudden change of plans.
The door to the room swung open violently. I raised my sniper quickly and steadied it. The room was fairly large, and the six of us hid behind the barrels which were placed by the sides of the room.
There was a gun through the door before a silhouette appeared. Slow, steady footsteps echoed the empty room. The six of us kept quiet as we watched nine people walk through the door.
Shit. Those were not good odds.
We watched as the masked people stalked through the room. Their movements were steady and controlled, with their guns drawn and ready to shoot. They moved across the room, heading to the door on the other side. It was a good thing it was dim because it gave us the element of surprise.
Once they were halfway through the room and had their backs to us, I made eye contact with the three opposite me, then the two next to me. I raised my right hand, holding up three fingers. Slowly, I counted them down.
Three.
Two.
One.
We started shooting. The person closest to us fell to the floor. Eight. All the others turned around with lightning speed, another one falling to the floor. Seven. Their guns found us and aimed toward us. Another fell. Six. They shot at us, and I ducked behind the barrels. I carefully snuck the tip of my rifle above the barrel and looked through the scope. I quickly shot one in the shoulder while Rosa shot another. Four.
The room was echoing with loud bangs from both sides. I hid behind the barrels again along with Clarke. I heard shouting behind me, and before I could turn around, a door slammed again. I quickly stood from behind the barrels. There was nobody.
Damn it!
"Shit!" I cursed under my breath, dragging a hand over my face. Vlado was gonna be pissed.
I looked at the men lying motionless on the floor. I looked to Scarlett, Rowan, and Rosa. "Take them to the cars. Make sure to tie them well." The three nodded and strapped their guns to their backs. They dragged the five men out of the room.
I was so frustrated. Did they know we were here? Why did they bring so many people? What was I going to tell-
"Romero!" I turned to the side to look at them. Clarke was still leaning against the barrels, but she was breathing really heavily now. Theo was crouching next to her, a worried look all over his face. Clarke was clutching the side of her stomach, and I felt my stomach sinking.
"What happened?" I asked, but in the back of my mind, I already knew what happened. Clarke lifted her hand shakily. Her hand was stained red, just like her shirt. All I felt was dread when I saw the thick, red liquid squeezing its way out of Clarke's side.
Clarke got shot.
