I had just gotten home from school and I throw my backpack down on the floor beside the front door. I run quickly to my room, as I'm expecting a call from Josh. As soon as I step foot in my room the phone rings. I pick it up.

"Hello?" I ask, knowing exactly who it is.

"Hi, sweetheart." Josh replies. I hear music playing on his end.

I grin and bite my lip, slowly sitting down on my bed.

"Can I come over?" I ask him.

"Of course." He laughs. "You can anytime, you know that."

"Great, " I smile even though he's not able to see it. I walk out of my room to see if my mom or dad is anywhere to be seen. "I have to eat dinner with my family, but as soon as that's done I'll be on my way over. After dark." I nod, walking back into my room.

Josh and I talk for the entire time until my mom calls my name for dinner. He kisses me through the phone before I hang up.

I eat dinner with my family and kiss my mom goodnight.

I put on a jacket and some lipgloss when I get back to my room. I shut my door, making sure to lock it behind me.

Josh's house isn't very far from mine, so it doesn't take long to get to him.

I push my window open and step out of it. I shut it back and begin my walk. Frankenmuth is a small town, nothing ever happens here so I'm never scared to walk over to Josh's.
