Chapter 53

I felt my body aching when I opened my eyes. Napabalikwas ako sa kinahihigaan nang makitang nasa isa akong kulay puti na kwarto.

The balcony was open and the thin white curtains was being blown by the breeze. I smell something salty outside that's why I came to check where I am and it shocked me when I saw the ocean.

Nasa beach ako?

Fuck, Gian...

He did this! That's why he's apologizing before my vision turned black! That's why! Tangina I should've just stayed at home if I knew!

"Where the heck is this..." I mumbled while I try to recall what place is this. Naupo ako sa malaking puting kama at napasabunot sa ulo.

Why would he do this? Sumama na nga ako tapos ngayon ganito pa ang nangyari. I would've understand it if he would just fucking blindfold me but he drugged me... He better have a good reason for this.

Talagang lagot sa akin ang Gian na 'yan.

I froze when I realized that my clothes are new. I'm wearing a flowly beach dress in cream and I can't remember that I brought this dress with me pero nasa cabinet ko ito.

Okay, things got weirder but I have to leave.

Madaling madali akong bumaba ng hagdanan. The walls were decorated with paintings in minimalist themes and it blended well with the interior of the house. The living room was too quiet when I went down at wala akong nakitang bakas ng gamit doon.

Pumunta ako sa kusina at gano'n din, walang bakas ng kahit sino ang naroon sa kusina. I think I'm all alone here for now but why?

I snapped when I looked at the wall clock and it's almost lunch time. Ibig sabihin ay ang haba ng tulog ko dahil maaga akong nawalan ng malay kahapon at tanghali na ngayon. My body moved to go outside where I could ask for help.

"Happy Birthday!" Sigaw nila nang makalabas ako.

The party poppers exploded with tiny pieces of colored foils and confettis. The whole balcony was decorated with balloons and my pictures and there's a buffet table at the back.

Zara, Vane, Geor, Sean, My family and the Laxsons are here. Si Papa ay nasa gitna at may hawak na malaking cake. Kulay dilaw ito at may figurine pa na babaeng may hawak na camera sa tuktok na sa tingin ko ay ako 'yon.

My heart swelled and my eyes watered.

"Ano 'to!" Natatawang sigaw ko.

Umirap si Vane. "Surprise sa'yo, tanga."

My eyes darted on Gian. He gave me a small smile na hindi ko maibalik dahil hindi ko naman alam ang dapat kong maramdaman so I went to my parents instead and hugged them.

"You shouldn't have, Ma, Pa..." I whispered. They smiled at me and caressed my hair.

"Hindi tayo nakapag-celebrate ng ilang taon so this will be a little extra special," si Mama.

"Oo nga, it's just a small surprise for you, anak. Happy birthday, My princess, we're so lucky to have you..." Papa kissed my cheek.

Inilapit niya ang cake sa akin para makapag wish and blow na ako na ginawa ko naman. I closed my eyes and started thinking of wishes I would like for my birthday.

For my birthday, give me and my family the strength we need and always bless us so we can share our blessings to other people as well. May the eyes of my fellow countrymen seek the naked truth always and let me guide them to see the truth in the flesh.
