"Good Evening Ms.Tales," Mark greets me as he walks into my office.

"Hello Mark, good evening to you too," I reply looking up from my computer.

"I was about to head out and thought I should take your trash on the way out."

Mark is an amazing assistant. He's worked for me for about a year now and he's the best assistant I've had so far. He always makes sure I'm okay and everything is done before he leaves work.

"Oh Mark that's okay I'll take it out myself, you've done more than enough for me today. Go home to your wife"

"Thank you Ms.Tales," he smiles, not even bothering to argue with me. He knows I'll win.

I turn off my computer as Mark walks out of my office and let out a big sigh. Today has been a long day indeed.

Skin to Skin has a new morning skin care line dropping soon and it's been taking up a lot of my time. I've been spending a lot more time at the office and although I love my job it is tiring.

I look up at the clock to see it's 10:30pm. I pack up my things, slide on my crocs, grab the full trash bag and make my way out of my office towards the back of the building.

"Excuse me young lady, no CEO should be taking her own trash out," Tori scolds me as I make my way to the elevator.

Victoria, or Tori for short, is the head of finances here. She's also been my best friend since middle school. Her parents were the ones who lended me the money to start this company, I've since paid them back. She doesn't really need the job here, being that she's filthy rich, she just took it to help me out.

"Mark offered but I told him I got it. He had already had a long day, he deserves to go home to his wife. Plus I'm a big girl, I can take my own trash out," I say as we enter the elevator.

"Oh Gia, to nice for her own good"

The rest of the elevator ride down to the first floor is quiet.

"So you heading home?" I ask her as the elevator doors open and we step out.

"No ma'am. It's girls drink free at midnight downtown today. I'm going to go try and find my future husband"

I let out a small laugh while waving her goodbye as she dramatically struts out the front door.

I start to make my way towards the back where the trash bins are located. I used to take my own trash out all the time before I hired Mark. My other assistants weren't very helpful.

I open the heavy door to step outside but I stop in my tracks when I see a man sleep next to one of the bins.

He looks around my age, maybe a little younger and it is obvious he's homeless.

Poor baby.

I slowly step towards the bin quietly throwing my trash in trying not to wake the man.

It didn't work because when I turned to re enter the building he was standing.

He was just staring at me and to be honest I was staring right back.

He reminds me of me a couple years ago.

"I'm sorry for trespassing ma'am. I was just on my way home," he whispers.

He's obviously lying.

"No, don't worry about it man, it's all good. You weren't trespassing at all."

He gives me a small smile before he starts to walk off.

Don't let him leave. But what am I going to do with him? I wish I would've had someone to help me when I was where he is. Oh F it!

"Wait up," I yell after him.

Good thing I wore my crocs today because he's a good distance away at the moment.

He hesitates but eventually stops in his tracks giving me a minute to catch up. When I get to him I take a second to catch my breath. I'm really out of shape.

"Look I already know that you're homeless and that's why you were sleeping behind my building. I know that you're lying about going home because you don't have one, I'm guessing, even though I know I'm correct. Sooo I was going to ask, if it's okay with you of course, maybe you can stay with me tonight and then we'll figure something out for tomorrow. You can shower and stuff, I have a change of clothes for you there. Not because I've had men over my house or anything because I haven't. I just keep men's clothes there just in case my guy friends need to stay after a long night. Plus I was planning on making tacos and it'd be pretty depressing to eat tacos as good as mine by myself. I'm not a serial killer or anything you just seem like a nice guy and I don't know how you got here and you don't have to tell me but it looks like you could use some love. Respectfully of course," I spit out in one breath.

My Lord he probably thinks I'm crazy

I'm expecting him to run off screaming but he just gives me a small nod.

Holy crap that worked??!!??

"Okay cool, Great! So um my car is parked in the parking lot of my building soooo if you don't mind we kind of have to walk back"

He gives me a smile before following me to my car.

I just agreed to let a stranger stay with me for tonight. My grams would be so disappointed.
