Chapter 6

POV Thomas

1 week later

Rosa's father let us sleep at her house all week but she hasn't been out of her room in days except to eat at night when everyone else was asleep. We tried everything to cheer her up, I tried to come see her to talk to her, laugh with her or even just keep her company but she didn't want to see anyone and kept her door locked all day. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, you could hear her screaming and crying with all her might. It was heartbreaking to see her like that but neither I or anyone could do anything about it.

But this afternoon there's the audition for X Factor. We were really worried to think about doing it without Rosa.

We were in the kitchen having breakfast with Rosa's father when we heard Rosa's bedroom door unlock. Rosa left her room and walked to the kitchen. I looked up to look at her.

Her hair was dull, full of knots and disheveled. His eyes were blood red, his dark circles were deep purple and his face was very, very pale. She was almost scary to see.

The room suddenly becomes silent until Rosa decides to break the silence.

R: I will do it.

V: What Rosa?

R : The audition, this afternoon, I will do it, with you.

E: Are you sure? You know you didn't have to.

R : I'm telling you I'll do it.

She sat down at the end of the table and breakfast passed in complete silence. No one dared to say a word, until Rosa, having finished eating, got up and went to her room.

D: Guys, are you sure she'll be ready? he said whispering

T: I have no idea, I'll go see her.

I got up from the table and walked to Rosa's room. I stood in front of his door for a few minutes when I finally had the courage to knock.

R : Come in

I walked into his room and was shocked. The rock posters on his walls were completely ripped off. There was broken glass all over the floor and the furniture was all out of place. The room was practically dark. Rosa saw my shocked face and sat down on the floor with her head between her knees to cry.

R : I'm sorry you see this side of me Thomas. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to! she said shouting

T: Shhh Rosa. Calm down, it's nothing at all. It's okay bambina. I say whispering

I took her in my arms to calm her down and we stayed like that for several minutes. I felt his hot breath against my neck.

Looking at her I saw that she had fallen asleep. I decided to carry her and take her to her bed. She really needed to sleep. I covered her body with the quilt and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

T: Sleep well Rosa. I say whispering

I wanted that when she woke up, her room was no longer in such a bad state.

So I got into action, I silently put the furniture in its place so as not to wake her, cleaned the broken glass on her floor with a broom and unhook the torn posters from her wall to put frames that I had found all over the house. I opened the windows and the door to ventilate her room which smelled of smoke and musty and I hurried to a decoration store next to her house to buy her 2 or 3 things. I put the decoration in place and sat down on her bed waiting for her to wake up.

2 hours later, she woke up and saw her room transformed by my talents as a decorator.

T: So do you like it? I say with a big smile
