It's been five years since Hero left to fight in that war. I miss him so much. The country had gone to war with another country for some reason, and all able-bodied men from ages 18 to 50 were to go fight for their country.

The war ended last month and Hero hasn't returned. What if he's never coming back? What if he's... dead? He's missed five years of normal life. Five years of our children's lives. We have three children. Josie, our thirteen year old daughter, she has my hair and Hero's eyes, the grey ones that I can get lost in.Then there's Beau, a boy, and Jasmine, another girl. They're fraternal twins. They annoy each other a lot, but they're still kinda best friends. Beau looks a lot like Hero, but he has my eyes, and Jasmine has Hero's hair and eyes. The only thing she has from me is the intelligence. Although when she was younger, when Hero was here, he used to tell me that she got her beauty from me. About a fortnight before Hero left, he proposed to me. I said yes, of course. He did it in the most romantic way possible. * Flashback* He took me for dinner at an expensive restaurant that serves great food. We had a bottle of wine, a great meal, and a wonderful dessert. After dinner, he took me for a walk along the beach at sunset. We stopped at a sign. I couldn't tell what was written on it because it was too dark at the time. He stopped me there and walked towards the sign, taking a box of matches out of his pocket and striking one of them. He held it to the first letter of the sign and it lit up, every single letter, spelling out 'Marry Me?'+ Then all of our friends walked up to us, standing around us in a heart, holding candles. Then he took the ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee. The ring was beautiful. Gold, with a blue jewel in the middle and three tear-shaped diamonds either side. I gasped and smiled as tears of joy began to fill my eyes.
