Eren laid on his bed. A small frown on his face as he stared at the cement ceiling. The soft squeak of metal made the young boy turn to face the newcomer. Silver grey eyes met with turquoise green and a smile plastered itself on Eren's face.
"Hey brat," The silver eyed male spoke with no emotion.
The soft footsteps from above made them both look up at the ceiling. A sigh escaped the youngers mouth as the footsteps reminded him how low his rank is in society.
"Come on. We have to go to a meeting," The silver eyed male spoke, trying to ignore the sadness that was plastered on the youngers face.
Turquoise eyes turned and met with silver. A small desperate smile laid on Eren's face.
"Captain. When can I be free?" He asked as he turned to face the ceiling before rising from his bed.

The older stood still at the question. He knew that ever since the trial, the young boy in front of him has been alone and abandoned. Not even his friends care if he is locked in a cell. Pain filled the silver eyes as he looked at the door. Deep down the captain knew there was another meaning to the word 'free'. It pained him to see the boy striped of any privileges.

"I don't know but, keep fighting. One day you will be free from this cage," the older spoke, reassuring himself and Eren.

"Thank you. Captain Levi," the younger spoke as he rose from his bed and started towards the metal door.

The oldest, formally known as Captain Levi, followed after the depressed teen. His eyes taking in the messy mop of brown hair that swayed slightly as Eren walked. The pale complexion, due to lack of sunlight, and the dark purple bags under the dull, lifeless eyes made the captain feel horror for the teen.

"Eren, we will get out of here. You will be safe. Just survive the meeting and I will talk with you after," Levi whispered as they approached two large oak doors.

Eren nodded before entering. Inside sat four people. Two with military police jackets, a blonde with large, oversized eyebrows and an energetic brunette that could hardly sit still. A silent starring competition seemed to be happening between the brunette and one of the military officers.

"Eren, good to see you," A blonde with blue eyes spoke.

Her voice soft and monotone. The two participating in the starring competition stopped to address the new arrivals.

"Cadet Yeager. Captain Levi. I am here to inform you of a new arrangement regarding Cadet Yeager," The military officer spoke harshly as he viewed the cadet and captain with disgust.

Eren tensed as the next words left the officer's mouth. Everyone tensed as the words processed in their heads.

"Cadet Eren Yeager is to be executed by the end of this month as he is seen as a threat."

Eren on top of the wall. Tears running down his face, leaving salty trails. Levi walked carefully over to the younger teen. Two bags thrown over his shoulder. Resting a hand on the youngers shoulder, the older gazed out at the disappearing sun.

"Annie is nearly here. Are you ready?" Levi asked as he slowly peered at the male beside him.

A small nod was his answer as Eren did not trust his voice to speak. The small blotch of blonde in the distance alerted the older that it was nearly time to leave. His thoughts going back to the meeting.

"What? Why is he viewed as a threat?" Hanji yelled as she stood up.

Eren quickly moved forward preventing the taller brunette from trying to kill the military officer. Erwin and Annie stood with shock as they tried to compose themselves. Levi stood with anger but refused to advance as it could worsen the overall effects. The Shorter's thoughts instantly thinking of a plan to save the teen.

"The titans are not proving to be as much of a threat so, there is no need for a monster," the officer spoke with so much hate that it took the young brunette by surprise.

"Then it will be in 15 days?" Eren asked with no emotion.

His body seeming to scream calmness at everyone in the room. The officer nodded before leaving. No words were exchanged as Eren spun on his heals and left the room. Levi and Annie quick to follow.
"Eren. Wait please," Annie pleaded as the brunette stormed towards the dungeons where his room was held.

Eren stopped. Tears leaving his eyes at the thought of death. At the thought of uselessness. At the thought of being a monster. A reassuring hand placed itself on his shoulder. Captain Levi stood next to him and Annie quickly caught up.

"I will not let them kill you. I will try to come up with a plan. Just please. Don't give up. You are important to me," Levi spoke calmly while Annie rested her hand on the brunettes shoulder.

"Yes Captain," Eren whispered as the other two thought of ideas of how to get him out of here.

The blonde was nearly there. Only a few more minutes and then Eren will be free from the cages and chains.

"We will head to the underground city near Shiganshina. There we will stay until we work out a way to gather resources. After that, we head past wall Maria and leave the walls behind," Levi spoke the plan as the other two stood around listening.

A small glow flowed through Eren's eyes at the mention of Shiganshina.

"Home?" Eren whispered.

A bright, almost blinding smile covered half his face as he saw his captain nod at his small question. Annie smiled to the side before all three launched off the wall.

They were free. They no longer were caged in the walls that humanity called safe. They no longer had to listen to the rules, and they longer had to listen to the judgement of the people around them.

If only it lasted.
