"Woooo! I can see!" Toph flopped down on the earth.
She could see Katara, Aang, and Sokka standing around her, waiting for her to get ready to head into town, but she didn't care. She focused on Sokka's smiling face. He was watching her act like a child, and he didn't seem disgusted by her behavior, rather, he seem to want to join her. That's why she loved him... because he didn't care what she acted like or looked like. He loved her for who she was. She blushed, and to cover it up, a ball of earth came flying out of her hand. It hit Aang in the stomach, sending him backwards, until he regained his balance with airbending.
"You're going soft," the munk said to her with a smirk, and he might have been right. That hit wasn't as hard as it would have been a few years back, but, as she got closer to becoming an adult, she didn't care for fighting as much. She liked to sit and imagine what the stars would look like, listen to the wind as it blew threw the trees, and feel the grass when it swayed with the breeze. She still loved to earthbend, just not when it was directed at others, except the gAang. She definitely liked playing tricks on them with her bending.
She kicked a piece of earth up and sent it flying at Aang. He did not dodge it, but it hit him right in the stomach. He made an oof sound when he fell to the ground, and everyone laughed. Even Katara, which was odd, considering that she never laughed at jokes.
"You were saying?" She asked him.
"Yeah, Yeah..." Aang grunted as he removed himself from the ground.
The gAang continued their short journey to the village on foot. When they arrived, the first person to see them dropped the basket that he was carrying, his mouth wide open. Toph stuck her hand into Sokka's, and leaned into his shoulder, as she smothered her hand over her mouth to hide giggles.
She still couldn't get over the way that people reacted to them after the war, which they ended. In a way, she guessed they were like super heroes, always saving the world. Now, they were off to save the world again, from the escaped Ozai, and Toph couldn't wait to see some action. Her old self was coming back. She still hadn't gotten to punch that evil guy in the face, so she was itching to get to the Firenation. Also, the team hadn't seen Zuko in a while, since he "had firelord duties to attend to", as the firelord liked to put it.
She waved at unsuspecting villagers as they passed, enjoying the looks of surprise and disbelief on their faces. She hadn't felt this way in forever, like everything was all right in the world. She had finally shown how she felt to Sokka, and he had liked her back, but the world wasn't perfect. It needed saving, and that's just what she was going to do.
