I don't think I've ever been more meticulous about something in my entire life. Every aspect of this has to go right since it's the first domino to fall and if something goes wrong, the last 6 months will have been for nothing. I type out the code on my encrypted server, it's surprisingly easy to create a fake text history and plant it on the data of William LaMontange Jr's cellphone. I double check my trail to be certain that I don't leave any digital breadcrumbs for Garcia to find later on.
It's been almost two weeks since I met with Katie and I've been spending all of my spare time making sure my ducks are all in a row. The last thing I need to work out is getting JJ to the restaurant when the time comes. And that starts tonight.
I invited the ladies of the BAU out for drinks and dancing. The plan is to get JJ to expect this kind of invite from me and want to accept it because she likes me. So when I invite her and the girls to dinner, she'll accept the invitation and the grand finale of my revenge on Jennifer Jareau will be complete.
I check the clock and see that I have a little over an hour before we're meeting at Garcia's. We decided to all meet there and then take a car to the club together. I save my work before closing my laptop and making my way to the shower. I turn the shower on and wait for the water to heat up.
I quickly wash my hair and body, knowing I'll have to be fast if I want to look my best tonight. I step out of the shower and wrap myself in a towel. I'm about to start blow drying my hair when my phone goes off beside me. I look down to see a text from Spencer.
Spencer and I have been texting almost nonstop since they all went out for happy hour and I couldn't go. He texted me later that night when he was a little tipsy and feeling bold. He told me that he missed me that night and wished I had come. We texted most of the night and every night since.
Hey Cara :) what are you doing tonight? I was thinking maybe you could come over and we could watch a movie?
I let out a groan because that honestly sounds so much better than what I need to do. As much as I would rather hang out with Spencer and watch movies, I have to have a handful of successful girls nights in order for my plan to work.
Hey Reid! It's actually girls night so I can't :( maybe tomorrow?
I hit send and start doing my hair. I decide to blow dry it straight since that will last the longest while dancing. Once it's completely dry, I check my phone again before I start on my makeup.
Dang it, okay well have fun with the girls! You are all going to have a great time :) text me if you need anything!
I sigh and put my phone back down on the counter. Of course he's sweet about me denying his invitation. It's moments like this that make me feel slightly guilty about planning on hurting him. But then the voice in my head, that sound a lot like my father, reminds me that he is one of the reasons my father is dead and I get over it.
I apply my makeup, going lighter on the face makeup since I'm planning on dancing and sweating a little bit, but do a reverse cat eye for my eye makeup and a bold red lip.
I look down and see that I need to be at Garcia's in twenty minutes. I sigh and go into my closet, desperately searching for something to wear. It should be sexy but nothing too revealing because I don't want to risk indecent exposure. Plus I'm not sure what everyone else is going to wear, so that makes it harder.
I finally settle on a short, black, bodycon dress with thin straps and my black stiletto heels. I apply my Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume to my neck, wrists and behind my ears. Now for accessories, I put on my silver dagger necklace, small hoop earrings, and a couple of simple silver rings on my fingers. I order my Uber and it notifies me that the driver will arrive in less than five minutes. I grab my small black purse and make sure I have my ID, credentials, lipstick, credit card and cellphone before checking myself in the mirror one last time.
