Chapter 5 - talk to me

Kiara POV
I was wandering around the island searching JJ who left in the middle of the night. I slept laying my head on his chest and when I woke up I felt sand underneath me, where did he go ? In the OBX he would occasionally go off on his own to act on his mostly stupid plans or just to get his head free. I decided that I wouldn't spend the whole night worrying he was a big boy, knew his way around the wilderness and would come back like always. What bothered me more is that he just left, just like that. I got back to the huts and tried to sleep counting back from 100. When I got to 20, he suddenly appeared and lied down without saying anything. He pulled me closer to him on his chest and put little kisses on my forehead. „ Where were you ?" I mumbled and he sighed waiting to answer my question. „ Roaming around trying to get tired." he answered dryly and continued putting little kisses on me. „ Okay." I said not knowing what else to say and closed my eyes. „ The nightmares are back full force and I didn't wanna wake you up Kie.." he continued talking and I sighed. „ Just wake me up...I'm a light sleeper anyway and talk to me instead of wandering around god knows where.." He sensed I was a little pissed, his body tensed up „ I don't like talking about it...I can't it never works." „ J, don't play with me.." I got more awake and sat up looking right at him. He was not looking at me but glancing at the sand beneath us. „ I'm just...I'm not good at this !" He got louder at the end of the sentence and slowly put his head up. „ At what ?" I was playing dumb cause I wanted to get him talking.
„ I've known you a long time Kie, but I never had something serious never, I'm just being honest.."
„ What does that mean ?" I asked crossing my arms fixating my eyes on him. „ You know, exactly what I mean..it's just I never had a relationship relationship and now we have something..." I knew that he wanted to say it in a different way but it bothered me how he wasn't able to articulate it. „ Something...mmh..okay alright, good night." I turned around and lied down I didn't care if I pissed him off he needed to get it. „ What are you doing ? Kie ?" Baby ?" I didn't answer his question. JJ hates being ignored I knew that. „ What the fuck ? Kiara talk to me !" He never called me that and I got up again to clear this shit up. „ Now I can talk to you ? Okay ! You just basically told me that we don't actually have something serious and that pisses me off ! Why ? Oh because you're throwing me in the same pot as every girl before me when we are something completely different and you know it !" I didn't care if the others could hear us I was too agitated about his vague answers. „ I didn't mean it Kie ! What the fuck ? Why are we screaming like an old married couple ?" I shook my head „ I'm not gonna answer this J.." I got up and left I couldn't stand the tension between us.
„ You're leaving now ? Okay ! That makes zero sense !" He shouted behind me and I walked faster I was so angry I just walked into the darkness without a goal.

JJ POV
I was not gonna let her wander off alone in the night so I ran after her, punching myself in my mind for saying the shit I said. I needed to get it together.
„ Hey you alright ?" I turned around and saw John B standing before his hut and I nodded „ Just need to clear something up..right now." I ran faster damn my girl could run and I finally catched up to her, she was sitting on a big stone. I kneeled down before her „ I'm sorry Kie, I really am I didn't wanna say it like that all I wanted to say is that I never had a serious relationship before you and me got well closer than before and that I don't really know how to deal with it." „ I still don't get it J...we know each other so well why won't you talk to me about what's really going on with you...you stopped since we kissed." „ I'm an idiot okay..I'm a fucking idiot that's why." „ We are in a relationship now..you can't just close off all the time and don't let me in it doesn't even make sense." I stood up and got closer to her I knew she was right, she always was. I pulled her chin up and kissed her she kissed me back and I put my hands in her hair. She pulled away from me and whispered „ I don't want you to promise me J...just do it please." I nodded and touched her nose with mine „ I will baby.." „ So start right now !" I had to smile because of her commanding tone and sat beside her saying „ Yes General Carrera I will start right now !" She boxed my shoulder playfully „ I'm freaking serious.."
„ Oh believe me..I know !"
