Chapter 6 - by your side

Kiara POV
The guys attempted to repair the boat today and by that I mean they wouldn't give up. After little fights and arguments they were still down at the beach trying to figure it out. „ Aw look at them trying to get along." Sarah commented sarcastically and I just shook my head. Cleo was annoyed because they wouldn't let her help them altough we all knew that she was the one who could fix it. „ Listen Cleo, we really appreciate your help for real but let us handle that for now.." She was imitating Pope and I bursted out laughing, her imitation with the stiff posture and everything was on point. „ Asshole !" She shouted at them and flipped Pope off who was ignoring her and whispering something to John B. JJ was ignoring them both, really concentrating on handling the motor. „ Your boy is focused focused." Sarah commented and I nodded. „ He's really determined to fix it and get off this island.." „ Why man ? It's the place y'all came together !" Cleo poined at me and him and I sighed not sure if I should tell them. „ Besides that he's had a hard time here I think you know what I'm talking about.." I sat back down and started to play with the sand. „ John B was struggling too, I mean he tried hiding it but being you know so isolated from the rest of the world his father's death got even closer to him.." Sarah looked at her boyfriend and crossed her arms. Cleo shook her head „ The only problem Pope got is to act like a human around me man. He's always trippin' and his moods change like that and I'm there like wtf man ?" I nodded half listening and continued „ And how are you ?" Sarah shrugged her shoulders and answered „ I'm definitely not fine but you know I'm trying because thinking about anyone related to me makes me wanna throw up and cry.."
„ And you ?" I turned to Cleo who threw her hands around. „ It's all I know man being on the run and so on so I don't mind but I'm mad pissed about the gold." „ And what about you ?" Sarah turned her head to me. „ I guess I'm alright but I also really wanna get back on the treasure hunt if i'm honest.."
After admitting how we currently felt about all of it we sat there kinda depressed and in silence, nobody was really feeling great. The island gave us freedom we never had before but it also reminded us of what we've left behind and what we still wanted to achieve. Atleast we were all determined to get back in the g-game and that should be our main focus from now. I looked back down, observing the guys, JJ still only staring at the boat and Pope and John B bickering beside him. „ You know what ? I'm sick of this. Cleo get down there and show them how it's done !" I needed something to happen. She nodded and got up „ Imma show them real good man, stupid stupid boys.." She walked down, Sarah and me following her behind. Cleo stepped closer to Pope and crossed her arms. He looked at her and at us behind her „ What's all this ?" „ I'm the only person on this island who can fix this motor man, so let me fix this or you'll regret it !" Cleo was playing around with her knife and laughed, knowing that Pope didn't like dangerous objects to be thrown around carelessly like this. „ Yeah Pope, I think we should let her do her thing." John B caved and and put his hand on JJ's shoulder who finally looked up. „ Yo Cleo knock yourself out." he said and put his hat back on. „ But we...but I had an exact plan-„ Sarah Cameron cut Pope off „ Be reasonable Pope, I thought you always were." He shrugged his shoulders and looked back to Cleo „ Alright, take a look !" She put her knife back into the pocket and fot closer to the boat. After inspecting it she demanded „ I need complete silence, aight ?" We all kinda nodded in unison and wandered off. JJ came up to me, took my hand and kissed it before we decided to hike up a hill behind the forest.

JJ POV
We were hiking and I was trying to get Kie up a rocky wall. She was a good climber but this wall was a little criminal. I guided her and when she reached the top, she took a deep breath „ I fucking hate you JJ, I swear..." I grinned and shook my head while putting my arms around her waist „ You just climbed up an insane wall for me, you fucking love me Kie..."
I kissed her on the cheek and she said „ I guess I do...poor me." „ Poor me ? You take that back Carrera !"
„ I won't Maybanks, not in this life.." There was something about her calling me my last name. „ How long till we reach the top ?" She leaned her head against my chest. „ 30 mins ? maybe 1 hour ?" I answered. „ You are such a good guide JJ, the best in all thee Poguelandia." she commented sarcastically before we continued our hike. We reached the top and even Kie had to admit „ This was totally worth it..I'm sorry for giving you such a hard time." „ What do I hear ? You're apologizing to me ?" „ Oh cut it J." She came closer to me and put her arms around my neck „ This is a really beautiful view, thank you for showing me.." She gazed into my eyes and smiled, I've never felt happier than in this moment. Seeing her smiling and happy, made me happier than ever.„ I guess my walks around the island were worth all of this." I kissed her slowly.
