Chapter 3-Akumo Demona

Roguya Pov

I walk out the door and jump into the canal so I can be in my mermaid form. I swim until I hear voices and the sound of multiple horse pulled carriages. I swim into an empty alley and jump out waiting a couple of seconds for my magic to kick in and get my legs back. I open a portal into what others would call my dragon hoard and pull out a basket made out of seaweed and straw. I walk out of the alley and onto the stone road.

I walk by the vendors and eventually come upon a vendor selling lobster and crab. I stop and examine which lobster I want gaining the attention of the merchant.

"Mr. Lobster man, can I have this lobster in the top right corner. It's very beautiful," I say, becoming intrigued by the red lobster swimming in the tank.

"Anything for a lady that's as beautiful as you. You know you are just otherworldly," The young boy running the vendor coos, not realizing the lobster is pinching his hand.

"Oh thank you. But how much should I pay you?" I ask, remembering I don't know what currency Fiorians use. "What currency do people in Fiore use anyway?"

"Since you're a foreigner, I'll cut you a deal. If you can catch 10 exotic lobsters, then I'll let you get your lobster free of charge and I'll pay you 300,000 Jewel. So, how about it sweet cheeks?" The young boy asks, putting a lobster cage on the table.

I'm a mermaid. Catching any type of seafood should be easy. I'll get easy money and I'll be able to buy more ingredients for Eve's meals.

"I'll take it! Thank you, kind merchant!" I squeal as I kiss his cheek.

I take the lobster cage and run down the road following the canals till I get to the big sparkly sea. I dive straight in and transform into a mermaid again, using my mermaid smell to sniff down lobsters. I cross through a natural world opening and enter my world's waters.

For the unaware reader, natural world openings are a natural portal that remains in the same spot and lets you go to another world. The most common experience is turning a corner and suddenly walking into another persons (Roguya's) world. Most of these portals are unknown and are usually found on accident. Very few people know where all the portals are and what part of Fairytale Land they lead to.

I see a system of rocks and spot a risk of lobsters. Luckily, Fairytale Land lobsters are very exotic and magical. Fairytale Land lobsters are known as  Hiraeth lobsters because when humans used to eat them it made them feel like they were missing a place they never experienced. The lobsters were a common treatment for writing block fantasy authors and fairytale writers had. I swim down and grab the blue Hiraeth lobsters and put them into the cage. I speed through the water and swim back to the alley I was previously in.

"These lobsters are going to be a hit. Maybe I'll even get paid more!" I exclaim, as I pull myself out of the canal and skip off to the lobster vendor.

"Oh, you're back already! Well, lets see what you got!" The lobster vendor says, his cheeks tinting with pink.

I put the lobster cage onto the table and his mouth drops. He examines the lobsters and touches the lobsters as if they weren't real. He pulls out 300,000 Jewel and hands it to me. 

"The name is Constantine. The market locals will definitely love you!" Constantine says, as he kisses my hand.

I thank him and skip off my red lobster heading towards what looks like vendors with fruits and veggies. 

Now that I think about it I should've asked Eve what groceries he needed. I also should have made a list. Oh well, I'll stop and get a couple of fruits and I'll head back home!

I get my strawberries and notice a stranger with purple hair behind me. I speed up and run into Eve's house locking the door behind.

I should have known that bastard stalker of mine would follow me here! Akumo Demona...

Akumo Demona, the prince of  demons, a stalker, and one of my exes. All this trouble started when we were six and we played pretend life. I fell into a field and then I never woke up until my 7th birthday. Turns out Akumo got most of the curse out of me and managed to only make me sleep for 1 year instead of 100. Ever since then he's stuck to me and became obsessed with me and my existence. He thinks we're dating when we're not, he thinks I'm his fiancé to be when I  show the slightest bit of interest of him. Luckily, he got better when he was prescribed medication and he's since treated me like a normal girl. Or at least until now...

I look at the mirror and see Akumo staring at me with an obsessed lovesick face.  His eyes practically had hearts in them and he was drooling. I run out of the door and into a forest nearby. Everything starts to get foggy and darker even though it's still the afternoon, eventually I trip on a tree root and fall down. I try to get up and run away but Akumo grabs my leg and turns me over so I'm almost straddling him.

"Princess, why would you run away? Do you know how worried everyone was? I looked all night for an opening into the human world and I finally found one. Now we can be together and I can protect you from yourself," Akumo says, letting his vampiric teeth graze my neck. "Say, maybe I should mark you? That way you'll always have my protection."

"Akumo, you don't want to do this. Listen, I'm just here until I decide go to back. I'm having a great time. You don't have to worry about me, I already made money for myself!" I plead, trying to push him off of me. 

"But you're not at home. You're not at the castle where the royal doctors can treat you. You don't want to fall asleep for a year again, do you? I'll just leave a little mark on your arm, that way nobody will notice it but me. It won't hurt, you'll plenty of pleasure. Just relax,"

My body loses most of it's strength and I begin to feel like I'm having a makeout session with my lover. Akumo rolls up my nightgown sleeve and kisses my right arm sending a wave of pleasure up my body. I hold back a moan and a small ping of pain and flinch, making Akumo squeeze my arm to make me be still. I look down and see Akumo with his teeth in my arm sucking blood out while putting some of his magic into me. He stops biting me and kisses my cheek giving me full control of body again.

"I'll let you keep playing your human game for now. I'll pick you up with army when you decide to leave," Akumo says, helping me stand up. 

I look at him as he disappears into the forest fog and I stare at him.

What happened to his medication? The last time he was off his medication for a long period of time he almost kidnapped me. I don't want to know what will happen when he's been off it longer.

"Akumo, wait! I know you're not in your right mind now, but I forgive you. Do you have the time to talk?"  I ask, reaching my hand out into the fog. 

Akumo walks back in my direction and he looks back at me.

"Yes, I could never a conversation with you," Akumo responds, hugging me.

We sit down at the base of the tree and I look at his yellow cat like orbs. I let out a deep sigh and try to lift my arm only to find out it's too sore to move. Akumo pulls out a bandage and wraps it around his bite mark. 

"Akumo, be honest, what happened to your medication? Did you purposefully not take it?" I ask, baring the pain as the bandage tightens around my arm to make sure no more blood flows.

"Shiva, I-I stopped taking my medication. I purposefully stopped taking it, I got too worried over you suddenly disappearing and I stayed up all night trying to find out where you were. Normally, I would be fine without the medication in my system for a day but the stress practically broke me and hurried every obsessive thought about you straight to my head! I just can't stop worrying about you!" Akumo exclaims, holding his head. 

This is all my fault...no no. It's not my fault, I wanted to explore the world and not be trapped in a tower until my 21st birthday. Even if it is in a few months. Hopefully Raina is having a reat time. Wait, RAINA?! I forgot all about Raina!

"I'm so sorry about this Akumo! I have to leave now. I need to know where my sister is!" I exclaim, running back into the sun filled forest and back to Blue Pegasus.
