A/N: I'm really, really, really, really, really sorry that I haven't updated since November but I've been busy with mock examinations and a couple of my other stories have taken centre stage. Also, I didn't want to cop out and ditch this story because I love it and I didn't want to update saying that I will update. You guys deserve better than that. So I made sure to make this extra long for you beautiful people, enjoy. :)

I let out a long, exasperated sigh as I slam the door shut behind my sister. A week has passed since Michael and I started dating, and my sister has demanded to spend as much of her time with me as possible and learn about my relationship. She has finally saw fit to leave today... at 10pm.

Sluggishly, I walk into the living room and fall onto my sofa, hoping to fall asleep when my phone starts to ring obnoxiously. Groaning and speaking several curse words, I pull it out of my pocket and answer the call without glancing at the number.

"Hello" I speak into my phone. My voice is monotone and tired.

"Hi, darling. I'm sorry, is it a bad time?" Mika's voice instantly causes a smile to completely overtake my face and a small giggle to escape my lips.

"No, it's okay. What's up?" I ask, sitting up speedily and tidying my hair slightly.

"I just needed to hear your voice" He yawns loudly. The sound is utterly beautiful and my smile widens.

"You sound tired. You should get some sleep" I continue to smile into the phone as I hear him whispering to somebody called Mel to calm down. A quiet laugh falls from my lips. "And who's that?" I question, still chuckling minimally.

"I am, but I can't sleep without seeing you. I haven't seen you in two days. And oh, Mel is my dog. She's a beautiful golden retriever and my best friend. Say hello Mel" A bark is heard from the other end of the line and I chuckle lightly.

"Hello Mel" I laugh, brushing my hair out of my face and then his other words hit me. Nervously, I swallow the saliva that is in my mouth and add "And if you miss me I can come over if you want" I bite my lip in anticipation as he remains silent.

"I would love that" He finally replies and I can hear the smile in his voice. This makes me grin widely and briskly stand up in order to search for my shoes.

"Okay, text me your address and I'll be over as soon as possible" I say, hopping on one leg whilst I attempt to get my foot into my black knee high boot.

"Yeah, I'll send you it. Bye"

"I'll be over soon. Bye" I hang up and shove my phone back into my pocket, shuffling my feet into my boots. Once they are fully on my phone vibrates and I quickly open Michael's text, copying his address into Google maps.

Swiftly grabbing my maroon raincoat, I turn off the lights in the living room and open the front door; hurriedly rushing out. After exiting my apartment building, I run to my car and enter it quickly as rain showers heavily down from the dark orange tinted, cloudy sky.

He had to miss me when it's raining, didn't he?

Placing my phone on the dashboard, I buckle my seatbelt, put my key in the ignition and instantaneously start the engine. I steadily drive out of the car park and down the surprisingly empty main road, following the directions spoken from my phone.

.................................

The rain relentlessly pelts the red hood of my coat as I run to the double doors of Michael's apartment building. Once inside I shake off the majority of the raindrops and remove my hood, ascending the wooden staircase to the second floor.

When I finally reach his door at the end of the corridor I am quite out of breath and have to steady myself as I knock the wooden door loudly. Hearing movement behind the door, I straighten my posture and brush the creases out of my coat, ensuring to make my hair suitable. I finally glance up and Mika is staring down at me with a faint half smile painted upon his lips.

"Hi" I smile shyly, waving awkwardly at the golden retriever that is attempting to get past Michael's legs.

"Hi, come on in" He welcomes me in whilst holding back a very energetic Mel. "I'm sorry about this, but she just loves new people" He laughs, letting go of Mel and allowing her to run over to me. She jumps up at me happily and I grin down at her, patting her with both of my hands.

"You must be Mel. You are beautiful, aren't you? I think I might have to steal you" I speak, smiling whilst rubbing the sides of her face with the backs of my knuckles. She replies by licking my cheek affectionately, causing me to giggle and hug her as she jumps into my arms fully. I hear Michael chuckle after shutting the door and noticing me stood there embracing his dog awkwardly.

"I think she likes you" He continues to laugh quite loudly, pulling Mel out of my arms and lightly placing her in a plush dog bed. "It's getting late you need to get your beauty rest, Mel. Eventhough you're already beautiful " He speaks, gently patting her head, kissing the top of her head and pulling a blanket over her. I stifle a giggle as he hands her a raggedy teddy bear.

"That's adorable" I laugh, causing Mika to stand up and stare at me in confusion. "You treat her like she's your child" I add, smiling up at him as he steps towards me steadily.

"Well, she is my baby" He responds, blushing slightly and wrapping his arms around my waist. The tip of his nose brushes mine and I feel my cheeks become instantly heated.

"Then, maybe we should leave her to sleep" I reply, nibbling my bottom lip apprehensively when he leans slowly to place his lips to mine. Staring up at him I notice little strands of golden fur speckled over his lips, and abruptly with my index finger I stop his lips from connecting with mine."But first go wash your lips, please. I don't wish to have dog fur in my mouth. Thank you" I speak, curtly kissing his forehead and gesturing in the direction of his bathroom door.
