"Mata, I had told you. Didn't you observe it this night?" Shatrughna whispered.
"Hmm. There's something brewing!" Sumitra said thoughtfully.
"Urmila is perfect for our Lakshmana Sumi!" Kaikeyi exclaimed excitedly.
"Kaikeyi Maa, not just Lakshmana but your son has also something brewing within him." Shatrughna whispered.
"Who, who, who?" Kaushalya asked, surprised.
"The eldest daughter of King Kushadwaja, Princess Mandavi!!" Shatrughna informed.
The three mothers glanced at each other and smiled, two major people who was shy for marriage had something brewing in them.
"Shatru, what's up with you?" Sumitra asked raising her eyebrow.
Shatrughna cheekily smiled, but didn't say anything. It was evident for Sumitra that her younger son too had fallen for that someone and she had guessed an answer too.
"You are my son, and don't even try to lie to your mother!" Sumitra replied.
"Is it anyone other than the Mithila sisters?" Kaikeyi asked.
With the same sheepish smile, he nodded in negative and continued to smile.
"Shruthakirthi?" Kaushalya asked.
Nodding in agreement, Shatrughna smiled and ran off from his mothers' chamber.
Laughing, Kaikeyi said, "Jiji, let's talk to swami. Wish that all our sons get married once!"
.
"Urmila, Mandavi, Kirthi!" Janaka called smiling.
Sunaina was grinning too, but she was nervous and it was evident in her facial expression. Kushadwaja and Chandrabhaga was happy too, afterall, there had come a proposal for their dear daughters.
Siya was happy, she had thought that she should have put it forward but now, she had not got anything to do. Except one thing. Select the appropriate attires for their wedding.
One by one the sisters came down the stairs, first Shruthakirthi next Mandavi and at last, Urmila. She had just now retired to her chambers to get some rest after the continuous work she had been doing for her dearest sister's wedding.
"Dears, King Dasharatha and I had met this evening and." Janaka started. "And he gave a proposal of his 3 sons getting wedded to you three."
Surprised and shocked, their faces gasped. One of them was so surprised that she was numb, another one was confused. What if something happen that she didn't wanted to. And the last one was afraid. Afraid of getting wedded to him.
"Bharata and Mandavi, Shatrughna and Shruthakirthi, and last but not the least." Kushadwaja paused. "Lakshmana and Urmila."
The nervousness of the hall had increased. Sita had a calm smile but the elders were anxious and nervous and the girls had surprised expression on their glowing faces.
"Kirthi, what do you say?" Sunaina asked fearing to start from her daughter.
"As per seen and heard, the youngest son of King Dasharatha is disciplined and good too. If you have liked him, then I am fine with it too." Shruthakirthi said hiding her blush.
The elders smiled, the youngest and eldest of their four daughters would be getting married, confirmed!
"Mandavi?" Chandrabhaga initiated.
"What do you ask her choti maa? Haven't you seen her chambers? I saw a painting of Rajkumar Bharata there." Urmila let the secret out smiling mischievously.
Mandavi glared at her while trying to hide her face. She felt to run away and hide herself somewhere in a lone place. It was too embarrassing for her!
"Is it Mandavi?" Kushadwaja asked.
Mandavi had no option rather to nod her head positively. She somewhere thanked Urmila in her mind as because of her she had no need in explaining why she choose him. But at the same time she was angry at her too.
"Urmila?" Janaka hesitantly called.
The Urmila who had a mischievous grin on her face till now became pale at the call of her name. She had to give an answer now, and here she stood tongue tied.
"Pitashri, I know if you have taken a decision, it will be the best. So, you need not ask me for it." she smiled.
"I haven't decided anything putri. I am just informing you about the proposal. Not to mention that I like Lakshmana and I even think he is the match for you. But, it's your life, the turning point of your life. And you should be the one who will decide not others. Be it your parents, siblings, or your future husband." Janaka explained.
Urmila smiled. She thanked her stars for blessing her with such gem parents.
.
"No, no, no. It's you who has fallen for the eldest daughter of King Kushadwaja. Not me!" Lakshmana shrieked.
"Obviously not. You have not fallen for Mandavi but her demoness, Urmila." laughed Rama remembering his conversation with Urmila a day back when she complained how Mandavi addresses her.
"Bhaiyyaa!" whined Lakshmana.
"Whining doesn't work putra." Sumitra smiled from back.
The brothers were shocked to hear their mother's voice from behind. Bharata and Lakshmana feared whether their feelings was heard by Sumitra. They instantly turned behind and saluted her in respect.
"Mata, when did you come?" Lakshmana stammered.
"When you three were talking." Sumitra wisely answered.
"At which particular point mata!?" Bharata asked not sounding too evident about being curious.
"Shatru told me everything about both of you and himself too. And if the information has not reached you yet, let me tell you, swami has put forward all of yours marriage proposal to King Janaka and the responses are back too." She answered.
"And what do they say mata?" Rama asked.
"Mandavi and Kirthi have happily agreed."
"And Urmila?" Lakshmana questioned.
"She says she has to talk to you. Go meet her at the lake near Gauri temple." she smiled while praying the Goddess of Love, Gauri to bless them all.
