"Nabi?" Dad taps on my door lightly and slips inside.
It's honestly a good thing ChangBin didn't drink last night. He was able to keep track of the time and slip out before my dad got home. If we'd both been drunk, we would've gotten caught. I roll onto my side and yawn as he comes around the corner to see me.
"Hey, Dad." I smile as I sit up in bed. My eyes flash toward the phone sitting next to me. I quickly shift myself to block it, not wanting him to notice it. I'm sure I could easily cover it up. ChangBin was over earlier and he knew it. I could say he must've forgot it then, but that's a stretch. He probably would've came and got it already.
"I just wanted to check on you before I headed out. I'm working the morning shift at the restaurant. Then I'm hitting the store to get a few things. Do you need anything?" Dad questions as he reaches out to smooth down my messy hair.
"I should be fine." I nod as I slowly reach back to tuck ChangBin's phone under the blanket. Part of me hopes it's on silent. It'd be my luck for it to go off when he's standing here.
"Do you have any plans today?" Dad asks as he sits down next to me.
"I—uh—I was just going to get some studying in." It's not a complete lie. I really do need to get some studying in, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to deal with ChangBin again today. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing—just very time consuming and after last night kind of scary.
"Okay, Nabi. If something changes let me know. I want to know what I'm coming home to." Dad instructs casually before getting to his feet. He squeezes my shoulder before making his way toward the door.
I jump as ChangBin's phone goes off. I pick it up to see about a dozen or so messages from their group chat and a bunch of missed calls. He told me his password last night while I was laying on him. He had his arms wrapped tightly around me and was telling me what to message back to Chan and MinHo. It was mainly just about trying to calm Chan down, but there was some talk of things I wasn't necessarily aware of before.
Apparently, they aren't just a group of kids who get into fights and dabble in drugs. They're currently running the drug ring in Seoul. HyunJin's cousin grows weed on his farm and gets other drugs shipped in. He gives some to HyunJin in return for part of the profits. In Seoul, they can charge a lot more than his cousin could in his small farming village. I give in and unlock his phone to see what's going on.
Chan: does anyone know why ChangBin isn't answering his phone?
MinHo: he usually has it on night mode until about eight.
Felix: he dropped me off first last night so he could stay with JiWoo longer. he could be at her place still.
HyunJin: i doubt it. her dad is probably home. if he found her and ChangBin in bed together they'd both be dead.
Chan: someone else try calling him.
SeungMin: i did. no answer.
MinHo: just wait until eight. it's only like ten minutes away.
JeongIn: does anyone want to come get me?
JiSung: what's up, Innie?
HyunJin: is it still that rough, In?
JeongIn: i think i'm going to jump out a window soon.
JiSung: on my way. no window jumping on my watch.
Chan: definitely not when he's on the sixteenth floor.
Felix: second floor maybe.
