Norman x Reader | We Meet Again

You were sitting by your favorite tree reading a book Ray had lent you the other day. It was truly a beautiful day today. The sun shining down on Grace Field allowing children to happily play with their siblings, the birds chirping and soaring in the skies above, the trees gently swaying caused by the light breeze.

It would've been that way if there weren't some loud and energetic red head pestering you by poking your cheek, giving you random hugs which you didn't mind, but the worst thing about it was: her whining and begging for you to play tag with her and your siblings.

"Y/nnnn come oon!! You've been reading that book all day! You haven't even spared a glance towards Norman, Ray and I!" Dragging out every single letter in that sentence. But what broke you from your book was the sound of your crushes name, you turned to Emma with a tint of red coating your already rosy red cheeks

"Okay! Fine, I'll play tag with you guys. But only once!!" Emma wore a big dopey smile on her face while giggling she then stood up, grabbed you by your arm and started dragging you to the tree where Ray usually stays.

"Guys! Y/N's gonna play with us! Ray you gotta join us on pleeeaaasse??"
Ray then sighed and closed his book
"Fine, but only because Y/N doesn't join that often." Emma squealed with joy and turned to Norman with a pleading look. Norman sighed and got up "I'm always up for a game of tag if you're joining Emma!" Emma let go of your arm and tackled Norman in a hug which caused his face to explode in red "Yaaay!! All of us are finally gonna play together again!"

Emma..I can never be like you..
You looked down and toyed with the hem of your skirt trying to hold back your tears. A hand rested on your shoulder, you looked up to see Ray giving you a knowing look,
"You okay?" His voice full of concern and empathy

You and Ray have always been close ever since you arrived at Grace Field.
Ray was the only one who piqued your interest since he was just like you. A quiet kid who keeps to themselves, and a bookworm as well!
It was as if you guys were twins separated from birth. You always had a lot in common with him. It was always one looking for the other, it happened frequently when you were children, but now? Not so much, but you still check up on one another.

You nodded and managed to wipe a few tears that slipped out, Ray pulled you in a hug in an attempt to comfort you, you hugged him back and squeezed your eyes shut, trying to block yourself from the world. It worked but for only a split second.

"Y/n? are you okay?" Said a voice full of concern,
