Well route 2 wins!

----------------------------------------

Star looked around. "Well. Seems we could be in a slight problem." He thought outloud, making motions with his hands at the possible routes they could take. Marking an X over the forest.

Moon slithered up behind him. "What kind of paths could we take? It's not like we're being hunted or anything. Everywhere we go is a possible danger." Moon stated bluntly.

"Shut it. I'm thinking." Star quickly snapped.

Cross deeply sighed in content. "Some things never change do they?" He quietly chuckled to himself. Glancing over at the tiny guardians. Soon noticing the look of concern on Dream's face and the look of annoyance on Nightmares. "Hey, what's wrong you two?" He crouched down a little.

"Nothing. Dream's just being mean." Nightmare huffed, crossing his arms. "I just wanted to turn the forest into a garden and he's making me look bad!"

"I'm not! You said you wanted to destroy the forest!" Dream protested, also huffing and puffing.

"Because you said you didn't want to go in the forest ever again!"

"You said that first!"

Cross exhaled deeply. "Yep things never change." He glanced back over at Moon and Star, who now, seemed to be cooperating. Which was good, least one set of twins were agreeing now. Unfortunately Dream and Nightmare were now borderline shouting at one another as their silly argument appeared to be escalating.

"WELL SORRY IM NOT A GOODY TWO SHOES LIKE YOU!" Nightmare shouted flailing his arms up in the air.

Dream stamped his foot. "I'M NOT A GOODY TWO SHOES! YOU BIG MEANY!"

"OI!" Moon shouted, startling Cross and shutting up the tiny argument. "You two apologise to one another right now. Arguing at a time like this won't be helping anyone. Now. Say your peace, apologise and forget about it. Okay?" Moon looked at the two boys.

Dream looked over at Nightmare. "...I'm sorry for calling you a meany."

"...I'm sorry too...for also calling you a meany..." Nightmare mumbled.

"Now. Hug." Moon demanded. Dream and Nightmare once again, looked at each other. Nightmare held his arms open for a hug, Dream walking over and the hug. "There. Now no more arguments."

"...you treated us like children-" Cross jumped up pointing at Moon.

Moon smirked. "Well. It worked didn't it?" He had a smug expression on his face. "Stopped you all from arguing. Kept the nice quite atmosphere that is perfect for my work environment."

"...Your perfect work environment was our suffering."

Star soon sighed. "Well I think we've figured out which way to go. So if you two could also stop being immature. Could we perhaps begin making our way over to the route that will hopefully provide us enough cover, until Ink either gets bored of this or leaves the timeline completely?... So hopefully a week if he can't find us." He picked up the basket of apples.

"Uh yeah sure." Cross mumbled a little, going to stand next to Star. "So which direction is that?"

"This way." He nodded his head in front of him. "Since the village is behind us and while no one was there last time I checked. It would be one of the first places someone after us would check."

"True. Especially since Ink knows that place is their home." Cross added.

"Plus it has sentimental value along with a reason to possibly go back. However, I have eliminated the reason to go back." Star held up the basket of apples. "...and possibly a wild card."

Moon glared over at Star. "We are not playing that wild card."

"I said it's a possibility." Star waved it off. "Anyway. Let's just head off."

The group of five soon began walking once again. Staying just on the outskirt of the forest as they strayed further and further away from the village and in Moon and Star's mind, further and further away from danger... from Ink and whatever interference he was planning on doing with this timeline.

The scenery around them was rather pretty. The mountains they saw in the distance, covered with snow topped peaks and clouds swirling around them. The loud rumbling of a river nearby as the water crashed against the rocks below. Needless to say half the time the adults had to drag away the tiny guardians before they began sprinting to the next pretty site.

"WHY CANT WE EXPLORE!" Nightmare shouted.

"I wanna pick the flowers!" Dream sobbed as they passed by a gorgeous flower meadow. Colours so bright and vibrant, all kinds of shades. Flowers all different heights and shapes. "Please Mr Cross!"

"Sorry guys. But no." Cross said as he began pulling the two boys away from the meadow. "Star and Moon need us to keep pushing forward we can't dawdle."

"Star doesn't even know where's he's going." Nightmare stated simply. "Why can't we stay in the field? It's got plenty of places for us to hide."

"... You have a point." Cross muttered quietly. "Hey Star?"

Star looked over his shoulder. "Yes Cross?"

"...so where are we going? Since these two want to stay here and all." He once again began mumbling since Moon was glaring over at him.

"We're heading to an abounded town that Moon just sensed nearby. I don't know how he did so, since there doesn't seem to be people there." Star looked over at Moon.

"Plus. An abounded town" Moon snickered "that squid brain wouldn't bother to look there. He's not bright." He waved his hand dismissivly.

Nightmare and Dream sighed.

"I want the flower meadow..." Dream sniffled. "I wanna pick some flowers..."

"Yeah... its like home." Nightmare added sadly... he really missed the tree on the hill. The tree that was the safest place he's ever stayed. "Plus it smells nice!"

"Yeah! Please can we stay there! Pretty please!" Dream and Nightmare looked over at them. Having made their eyes seemingly massive and Dream was ready to let the tears rain down.

Moon scoffed. "Pretty please doesn't work on me and neither does the puppy dog eyes. So instead. A compromise." He sat down on the pathway in front of the two guardians.

"...A compromise?" Nightmare and Dream looked at one another, then back at Moon. "What kind of compromise?"

"We'll check out the town and depending on how everyone feels about the place. We'll head back here to the flower meadow."

"DEAL!" the two guardians screamed.

"Oh... boy." Cross held his hands over his ears as he just knew what was going to happen.

Star was already imagining the headache he was going to get as he knew... he and Cross would have to be the tie breaker on where they would stay...
