❥ VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE HAD ENDED AT SIX THIRTY, around the same time rain began falling from the cloudy sky, causing both shoyo and tobio to sprint to their car in attempt to avoid getting soaked.

however, the fact that they had gotten in the vehicle with soaked hair and drenched clothes was practically inevitable. they shivered with the cool air conditioning that blew against them as shoyo turned on the car.

the ginger laughed. "we haven't done that since high school." he reached forward to switch off the ac, in which tobio finally settled comfortably in his seat,

"yeah." his lips perked up at the recollections of his high school years, running with shoyo and racing him to just about any destination—he looked over at his best friend, realizing how much he had changed since then.

"oh and, tobio–" shoyo looked backwards with his hand on the wheel, pulling out of the school's parking lot, "practice has been weird lately."

"what do you mean?" tobio rested his head against the window, eyes now focused down at his shoes.

"it's just felt...off." now both shoyo's hands gripped the wheel as he looked forward at the road. "all week we haven't been together, and its gotten really quiet. it's never quiet."

"well, maybe because ryu hasn't been showing up."

"yeah, that's probably it." the ginger sighed as he spoke. "ryu...he didn't show up all week, and it's already friday. he's not texting, or anything, either—that's not like him."

tobio, knowing exactly why ryu had been missing so many practices, was confused as to why kiyoko had decided to keep their break up on the low. "weird, isn't it?" he replied nonchalantly, covering for the girl despite the fact.

"hopefully he'll show tomorrow." shoyo spoke before releasing a sigh. "we really need him."
