Authors note!! Please disregard how you refer to yourself as "you" instead of "I" like you did in the other chapters. I don't rlly know how that happened but it just did. I might edit the other chapters later.
It has been a few days since you got here and you already have to start school, which honestly you're not too upset about. Tamaki told you'd be in the same class with a few of his friends from the host club which you're still a bit skeptical about joining but it can't be all that bad. You have a habit of waking up early on your first days of school to get ready. You sit up in bed to procrastinate for a sec before picking out and changing into (male uniform/female uniform/whatever you want) and then heading to the kitchen to make breakfast. You just do a quick avocado toast and bacon since dad went to the store the other day then head back upstairs into the bathroom to brush your teeth and do your (hair/makeup). Tamaki told you that he would pick you up every morning so your dad wouldn't have to get up early. You head outside and text Tamaki if he's on his way when he pulls up in a limo. You knew the school was rich but why tf does one guy need a whole ass limo to drive him to school?! You climb in and sit across from him.
"Tamaki what is the point of driving a whole ass limo to school," you speak up.
"Oh is it weird? It's normal here." he says practically boasting.
"No it's not you just live in a rich neighborhood" you say, deadpan.
You are going to have to teach him a thing or two later but for now, you get out of the dumb limo since you have arrived. Tamaki shows you to your room and walks away, which leaves you to finally meet your classmates. You walk in as everyone is talking since the bell hasn't rung yet. You wouldn't call yourself shy, you don't stutter in front of people or turn red when having to socialize, you just don't prefer to be in awkward situations so you try to limit the number of times you have to speak. You can still function, you're just introverted which makes it a bit difficult to make acquaintances. You make your way to the teacher to ask what you're supposed to do but she doesn't look up from her book... that's uncomfortable. You clear your throat, "I hope that doesn't make me come off as rude" you think after realizing your action. You soften your eyes to make up for it. "Hello, I'm the new student L/n Y/n" you informed, fidgeting with your hand behind your back.
"Ah yes, you are Tamaki's younger sibling aren't you?" she beams. You smirk to yourself.
"Is he well known around here or something?" you question.
"Definitely," she chuckled, "You can sit at that free desk in front of the twin on your left," she smiled. You walk to your desk. "Twins huh? Must be the ones Tamaki was telling me about" you ponder. you try to observe them as much as you can before you have to turn around to sit down, call it a habit. "Alright, so they both have auburn hair and sly amber eyes. They are both fairly attractive as well as fair-skinned. If we dig below the surface It seems they're truthful on the top-most layers. They are naturally playful and comedic, there is something about them that almost seems melancholy though. I can't quite put my finger on it." you think before turning your focus to the twin on your right. "The one on my right is teasing a brunette in between him and his twin. His hair is parted to the right, and his voice smooth and harsh" you note. "Now the one to the left is similar to the one to the right in all the basic ways but I bet I can find a few things different," you think as the twin on the left starts to laugh. "Ok I can tell his voice is different, it has a nice rasp and is soft and whiny. I really like the rasp, it's not harsh or croaky but it definitely adds texture. It reminds me of a song I like." you think before you finally sit down. (the song I'm implying is looking out for you by joy again but if you don't know it then nvm).
"New?" the boy behind you asks. You fail to answer before being interrupted by the bell, followed by the teacher.
"Okay class listen up! Today we have a new student joining us, be nice to them. Y/n would you like to introduce yourself?" she asks, though more of an order than a question. "No, I don't wanna introduce myself, what a cliche," you think before reluctantly doing it anyway, you stand up.
"Hey guys I'm L/n Y/n and I hope we can all get along," you say. Luckily you think you came off as approachable, though you're not sure if you want people to talk to you, you'd just rather avoid discomfort. You look around, making reciprocated eye contact with your new classmates. They all looked, normal? But entitled at the same time, "damn rich people" you think before sitting down. The teacher goes on about the lesson and it is just a typical lesson until the twin with the textured voice acknowledges you again, asking a different question this time.
"Oh, Y/n huh? You must be the boss' sibling" he grinned, actually more like smirked. You had a bad feeling about these two but you like how the one on the left talks which really shouldn't be the deciding factor, but for you it was.
"The boss?" you ask. You already know he's talking about Tamaki but you might as well put effort into making the conversation longer or something.
"You know what I mean" he assured, tilting his head forward. "Damn this guy has no filter huh?" you thought. you like that about people though, even if it's in the moment you like it when their emotions talk or they just say whatever is on their mind, to a certain extent of course. You didn't know how to respond you you gave him a grin that read touché. "The host club has heard a lot about you in the past few days, a bit too much. Like, even your favorite color and least favorite holiday." he points out. "It's my first day and it seems like the entire club is already gonna dislike me, so much for being reserved, thanks for that Tamaki," you think sarcastically, pursing your lips and glancing to the side. "You seem cool" he finally finishes, smiling warmly. You like his smile, not as much as you like his smirk though.
"I never caught your name." you implied, it'd be nice to put a name to the voice. His lips turned up and his head cocked to the side before he answered.
"I'm Kaoru, and this is my brother Hikaru" he stated. You find it odd, the way he referred to his brother as if Hikaru was right next to him. You also noticed that the way he introduced himself and his twin had a completely different underlying tone than the conversation you were having previously. It was as if he was reading off a script as if it was something he had said a thousand times. You were just glad his emotions still seemed to be real. Kaoru huh?
"Well nice to meet you, Kaoru," you respond giving a closed-eyed smile. He smiles back before you turn around to focus, having run out of things to talk about anyway. When you turn back around you catch a few heads turned at you in my peripheral vision as well as some venomous looks from some girls in front of you. Jeez, shouldn't they be used to the host club boys socializing by now? You hear they get tons of customers a day you doubt these girls are so special. You catch yourself in that thought and sigh, you shouldn't put them down though. You think a silent apology then go back to my studies.
So I was gonna introduce the host club in this chapter but again, this is a KaoruxReader so you obviously need to take good note of him and establish your first impressions. I swear the next chapter will actually be about getting in the host club. I'm going to start working on that chapter as soon as I can but I'm starting school tomorrow so I won't have as much time to frequently update this story, I will try though. Don't be afraid to suggest ideas in the comments because for some reason I have the plot planned out for every character but Kaoru which is who the story is about. Once again I wish happy reading~ -The Moon
