Madeline was a beautiful woman. Her skin was porcelian glass. She was petite, gorgeous. Unmatchable beauty. She had blonde -almost white- marvelous silky hair every girl in the town could only ever dream of having.

Daisy on the other hand was a slightly less-than average looking woman. Every man laughed at her appearance while the woman shamed her. She had ginger wavy shoulder length hair that went more than a little past her shoulders and a bump on her nose. Her freckles spread all throughout her face and she was an uneven pale.

How did Daisy and Madeline meet? Why was Daisy so horrid looking?

Daisy was so madly in love with Matthew that she didn't know what happened could ever happen.

It all started months ago.

She and her now ex-lover were on their way to the well to retrieve water for their soup.

"Lovely day" She sighed contently

"Not as lovely as you" Matthew smiled softly and Daisy smiled back.

They got to the well and there they saw Madeline. She was bending down trying to scoop up water.
She teetered dangerously back and forward as she made horrible attempts at getting water.

She was starting to fall forward until Matthew rushed forward and placed one hand on her back and the other right above her chest.

"Thank you! Had it not been for you, I would have fallen into the well" She said gratefully.

"A-Anytime" Matthew stuttered in awe

"I cannot thank you enough" Madeline smiled

"Don't worry yourself, please. I'll fetch you your water" Matthew said

"What a kind gentleman" She giggled softly then looked at Daisy
"Is she your relative?"

"Relative? Oh-"

"His wife, he just recently proposed" Daisy stated firmly with a small smile

"Why congratulations!" Madeline said as she returned the smile

Matthew handed Madeline the bucket.

"Why not come over for dinner?" Madeline offered

Madeline did not seem to be flirting with Matthew, but Daisy couldn't help but feel insecure around Madeline.

"We would love to!" Matthew answered quickly

"Great" She grinned
