Daisy and Matthew had just arrived at Madeline's house.

It was a house made out of wood. Way small for two people to live in but sufficient enough for a single person.

Madeline opened the door with a smile plastered on her face.

Her hair was down and she wore a light green short-sleeved dress that fell right above her knees and a plain white apron.

"Come in" She said

Daisy and Matthew entered the house.

"Lovely house" Daisy commented

"Thank you" Madeline smiled
"I made sandwiches with fresh bread out of the oven and lemonade."

Daisy stared at her in awe. It wasn't a competition but if it were, she was losing.

"Lovely" Daisy said with a forced smile

"Oh, it was nothing" Madeline replied modestly
"Please, take a seat"

"Thank you" Said Matthew and he took a seat without taking his eyes off of Madeline.

She took the tray of sandwiches which were filled with sandwiches stacked on top of each other.

"Please, let me help you set the table up" Daisy offered

Madeline smiled gratefully.

"The dishes are in the cup board and so are the cups"

Daisy nodded and took out the dishes and cups.

Ding.

"Oh! I'll get that" Madeline said and rushed to put on oven mittens then rushed to the oven.

Daisy and Matthew stared as Madeline took out a fruit cake out of the oven.

"Fruit cake" Madeline said
"Made with my great great great grandma's recipe. She was quite pretty"

"I can imagine" Matthew muttered

Daisy shot him a look as she set up the plates and cups. He replied by shrugging his shoulders.
