It had been three weeks since Tony hurt his knee. Steve had been quite content taking care of Tony..... Until he got crutches. Of course, he still was banned from the lab but that didn't stop him from doing his own thing. He started making his own food again and generally taking care of himself.
Steve felt unneeded to say the least.
Tony was tinkering with a hand repulsor on the couch when He noticed Steve watching him.
"Why so Glum chum?" Tony asked a little concerned. Steve shook his head and made to leave only to be tripped up by Tony's crutch. Tony gave him a serious look.
"Tell me." Steve smiled and moved the crutch. He hesitated a moment before speaking.
"Well you got your crutches I have felt a little... Unneeded to be honest." Tony surprised Steve by laughing.
"Unneeded! That's a good one!" Tony glanced over at Steve.
"Oh your serious. Whoops." He pulled Steve down onto the couch arm next week to him.
"Steven Grant Rogers. Just because I can function on my own again does not mean that your not needed. Hell, I need you!"
"you're just saying that to appease me."
"No I'm not! You keep me sane Rogers. In this crazy mess of a team It's YOU that keeps me off the edge." Steve grinned.
"thank you Tony."
"its me who should thank you." He gestured at Steve with the screwdriver he was holding and dropped it. "Crap" he muttered leaning to pick it up. Blue eyes met brown when Tony looked up. Steve had leaned down to get the tool for him.
"you have gorgeous eyes." Tony commented.making Steve smile wider. He smiled a lot around Tony.
"thank you." Steve realized.just how close he was to Tony. He could feel the other man's breath on his face.
He leaned ever so lightly so that his lips were mere inches from Tony's.
"you have pretty eyes too." He placed a light kiss on Tony's lips.
"ugh! Get. A. Room you too!" Bruce was standing behind the couch stirring his tea.
"don't make me Hulk out on you" Steve and Tony spoke at the same time.
"Shove off Bruce."
