A year in Italy

I woke up and was still in the silky sheets, I looked around the room and did not see Eliot anywhere. I then got up from the bed and started looking for something to cover myself with. I found a woman's gown and thought it must have been Mercy's. I put it on then walked out of the bedroom, " Miss Mercy, good morning should I prepare your morning baths like everyday?" I heard a woman say, " oh no ma'am I'm not Mercy, I'm Camilla" I said correcting her. She first looked shocked then walked away without saying another word... I guess I wasn't getting that morning bath preparations.

I walked down the stairs and met a group of women huddled in the kitchen but once I got there they all got to cleaning and other house duties. Most of these women looked to be around my age, I then made myself some coffee as they all decided not to talk to me... even when I said good morning to them. I sat on the huge dining table not knowing where Eliot is. An hour passed and I decided to go out and officially explore the town, I went back to the room and worn my dress from last night then grabbed the car key and started walking out. I was surprised when the guards stopped me from leaving,  "sorry ma'am but you can't leave until Don gets back" one of them said with an English accent, " I did not resist so I asked one of then to go get my phone from my car and they did so.

I walked back to the house then saw I had 11 missed calls from Sophia, I then decided to call her back...

Sophia: Camilla please don't hang up! Kai got into an accident last night and he's now in the ICU they wont let us see him.

Camilla: wait! what?!

Sophia: please Camilla I know I screwed up but I need you right now...

Camilla: I'll be there in 20 minutes

I hung up the phone the turned back to leave, " If you two don't let me go, Eliot's brother might die and I will blame you two" I said with intimidation. It worked, they both opened way for me, I got into my car then drove to Sophia's apartment. I barged through the door and saw Sophia crying sitting on the sofa. " Camilla, I'm so sorry I did not mean anything I said to you, it was not Kai's fault it was mine" she said with tears rolling down her face, " Shh... I know it's okay Soph" I said as I hugged her tight. "Camilla what if he doesn't wake up!? What I never see him again?" she said with a shaking voice, " Sophia you will see him again... we will see him again okay" I said as I pulled her head to rest on my chest in a baby position.

This went on for about 30 minutes until we both fell asleep on the couch but got woken up Sophia's phone ringing... "hello?... yes... okay yes okay thank you!" she hung up the sprinted off the sofa then grabbed her car keys, " Camilla please come with me to see him, the doctor told me he is out of the ICU" she said with a soft voice, " sure" I said as I got up and then walked with her out of the apartment. I did not bother to tell her about my new car due to the situation. We got to the hospital and we ran inside looking for Kai's room. When we found his room he had all types of pipes attached to him," he survived the surgery but It's not guaranteed if he will make it it to tomorrow, we thought it would be better if he spend his time with his loved ones" the doctor said as he walked in the room after us.

I looked at Sophia and she looked broken, I knew if Kai died, Sophia would lose her mind but there was nothing I could do. I moved out of the room and tried calling Eliot but he didn't answer. I gave up and then sat in the waiting in the hall alone, after a few minutes I saw a man in his 40s walking my direction. The man looked rich and very healthy, it was no secret that he visits the gym maybe 3 times a week. He was wearing a black suit and a bow tie, " where is my son? Where is Kai!" he asked one of the nurses, she then looked scared and pointed to the room I was next to. He looked at me as he entered the room, he was Kai's dad. I decided to give them some space and called a cab to take me to the apartment, once I got there I took my car and drove back to the mansion.

Eliot was still nowhere to be found. I waited and he did not show up...

I was in his room praying he would come back, and he did... he walked through the door and looked at me, " what are you doing here Camilla?" he asked as if I didn't belong here. " Eliot where were you?" I asked with annoyance, " why are you nagging me already?" He asked also getting annoyed. " Your brother is in the hospital and you are here asking me stupid questions! Eliot please I'm just trying to be loving here" I said with a soft tone not angering him, " Camilla no one asked you to be here okay and I know Kai is dying" he said, " Camilla I told you I don't do this love shit, just because I fucked you... doesn't mean I love you okay". He then passed where I was standing then headed to the bathroom to take a shower.

I then took my car keys and left his house, I drove to the hospital to spend the night with Kai. I got to his ward and he was alone and still looking vulnerable with all those machines attached to him. I sat beside him, " Kai if you can hear me... Camilla...I want you to know I forgive you and that I am sorry for not staying with you but I'm here now. Kai you can't leave me right now... Sophia needs you, Eliot needs you okay... Kai I need you so please fight for your life. I know you might think I'm a gold digger but I don't care... I just met you dude so please don't leave so soon..." I then rested my head in his hand as tears started rolling down my face.

"I can't lose you, please..."
