She waited in the distance as the sun set, her eyes constantly watching the movement coming from Natasha's little hideaway. After what happened with Mason, she rushed through the woods and came out the other end of the field that the house was in so she'd be away from him if he was to wake up. Though, she did hit him pretty hard, and he was stuck at the bottom of a ditch, so she wasn't too worried about him anymore.

During her wait, she saw the lights in the home flicker before fading away, plunging the place into darkness. For a moment, she wondered if Natasha had turned them off and gone to sleep, which would've meant she was in for a long night of aimlessly waiting in the cold and dark. But, when she heard the front door slam shut after being pushed with annoyance, she lowered herself in the grass and watched whatever she could.

Natasha, after taking multiple breaths of frustration, tried her best to bring light upon her place again. She pulled on the generator a few times before bending down to try and see if anything was wrong with the actual structure. Erin tried to keep her eyes on her, but soon found it hard due to the darkness of the night swarming over the area.

Then, in the darkness, came a light. The headlights of a car soon came on and lit the area up as much as a car of that kind could, which was useful to erin. She could just about see Natasha through the window of the car, which urged her to begin to make her through the grass. Once the car had driven far enough away, Erin revealed herself through the grass and crept over to the place.

Part of her wanted to follow the car to wherever it was going and see Natasha. It wanted to urge Erin to follow her and reunite as soon as possible, because she missed her. But that part of her was always silenced.

As she made her way to the door, she passed the generator which had drained the house from its light, and she stopped. With a small glimmer of wonder, she crouched down and toggled with a few of the loose bolts around the build before tugging harshly at it once, which gave it life again. She didn't know how permanent her fix would be, but it gave her light for long enough, so she rose to her feet with a smile.

"Easy." She mumbled to herself, knowing that she only learned how to deal with engineering from her uncle coulson.

Then, she stepped away from the generator and made her way into the now lit up hideaway. It was easy for her to pull the door out of its small lock and enter, which allowed her to immediately start wandering around.

Erin didnt know why she was so interested in looking around there. Perhaps it was because looking at Natasha's life in the present would make her feel closer. Or it would've been nostalgic to see if anything was similar in her lifestyle to how it was when she was younger.

Whatever the reason was for her curiosity, she let her eyes roam the place. They first noticed the computer and the coffee table which had been left on, so she slowly and cautiously made her way over to that.

She chuckled softly to herself when she saw the picture on the screen, a paused scene from the James Bond film, Moonraker. "Still a fan of the movie?" She hummed to herself, "why does that not surprise me?"

Erin made sure to keep her hands to herself as she trailed through back to the kitchen until she saw a stack of shopping on the kitchen counter. She didn't bother to check inside the bags, and instead allowed her attention to fall to the box of hair dye on the side.

Holding the box in her hand, she smiled to herself, "always one for changing your hair colour, aren't you, alia?" Then put the box back where it originally was.

While alone in the place, she began to question her motive. Why was she trying to learn more about Natasha rather than bring her to justice? She'd dedicated herself to shield after her father died, she'd taught herself about the wrongs and rights of the avengers, so why was she abandoning his morals when it came to Natasha?

Those were the questions that she didn't want to answer. She didn't want to admit the obvious to herself out of fear that it wouldn't be reciprocated by Natasha, so she covered it up with rational ideas.

"It's for the mission." She told herself over and over again on her way to Norway. "I'm a shield agent, this is what I do." Through all the speeches she gave herself, she still knew the obvious answer behind her actions.

She sighed to herself and sat down in the nearest seat she could find while she dropped her head into her hands.

"What am I doing?" She asked herself with an annoyed tone before plunging herself to silence again.

She spoke to herself in little frustrated mumbles until a faint noise caught her attention. Her head instantly rose the moment she heard it, she pushed herself up from the seat, and her eyes directed her to the slither of colour she could see through the darkness in the distance.

Through the small window at the back of the place, she could see an erupt of orange in the distance, which immediately sent her into a panic. Ignoring her little side mission, she bolted out of the front door so her eyes could focus on the distance more. That was when she saw the ball of fire slowly fizzing away into the air on a nearby bridge.

"Shit." She ran through the dark and over to the car she'd abandoned by the hill.

Something deep inside of her told her that it was Nat. That ignited her panic.
