"You're really gonna shoot me?" He asked, holding his hands up. While still holding the gun, she clenched her jaw and watched him with caution. "In front of Natasha? Is that what she'll want?"

"Oh, don't give me that bullshit, you have no idea how we feel about each other, so don't use that as an excuse." She scoffed.

"So you do feel something towards each other?" He asked - mostly as a way to try and distract her.

She aimed the gun at his head, "that's a generic fucking expression, stop it."

"You know, you need to have the safety off if you actually wanna shoot me." He reminded her, knowing she already had the safety off.

The moment her head turned to the gun and not him, he charged at her with his hands out. He instantly locked her wrist in his hand as he shoved her into the side of her own car. Of course, the spiking grip in her wrist caused her to drop the gun - just as he'd planned. Even though the gun was no longer in her hand, he continued pushing her against the car, knowing she could still fight without a weapon.

While he pushed himself closer to pin her down, she swung her head forward and targeted his nose. Like she planned, he released her from his hand and leant back to hold his aching and bloody nose. Then, because he was focused on his own self, she spun around him and grabbed his hand as she did so.

With his wrist in her hand she shoved him against the side of the car where he just had her and pressed his front against it while twisting his arm until he groaned in pain.

"Just walk away from this, Mason, I don't want to hurt you anymore than I already have." She warned him, her raspy voice making its way into his ear while he struggled.

Reaching his free arm backwards, he bunched whatever part of her jacket he could and used it to pull her off of him the only way he could, which was forward. When she tried fighting him off, he could use both hands to pull her over him now that she wasn't folly focused on pinning him. So, he bent and pulled her over him so she'd fall onto the car and allow him to be free.

Her back hit the hood of the car before she instantly rolled off of it and onto the ground, catching herself on one knee, her foot, and one hand she placed harshly on the gravel to stop herself from falling.

With a single strand of hair hanging in her face, she looked up at him with annoyance before she saw him bolt for the gun she'd dropped previously. She knew she wouldn't have the time to push herself up and fight him in a strategic way, so instead she pushed herself forward on the ground, dragging her boots against the stones.

In one move, she was close enough to him to spin and swipe his legs from underneath him. Instantly, he fell to the ground before he could get near the gun, and she immediately pushed herself up to straddle his hips and stay on top of him.

Instead of pinning his wrists down and trying to rationally solve it, she worried that she'd give herself away to Natasha if she kept fighting for too long. So, she threw a punch at him which landed perfectly onto his face. Before she could throw the next one, he grabbed her hips and forced her off of him so he could get back on his feet.

He didn't put much thought into his next move, which was very clear. Mason was panicked that he wouldn't be able to stand a chance against Erin if he didn't take advantage of her vulnerability. Once he made it back to his feet and saw that she just made it back on hers, he charged towards her with the full intent to push her to the ground. What he didn't realise was that what he was pushing her down to was a hill.

She parked her car by the side of a small rise, and they fought around there for as long as they could. But, when he panicked that she was winning the fight, he resorted to taking the fight elsewhere. Beside the car was a dip which sloped all the way down to the start of a small lake which flowed out between the trees, and that's where he brought her down.

She was crashing and rolling down the hill with a speed that dragged rocks up with her. Through the flashes her eyes could make out, she saw that mason was also falling down with her - though she could only see the outline of his blue flannel tumbling down the hill as well. Then, they came to a stop. She finally stopped on her back and was able to verify that she wasn't alone in her fall.

Ignoring the scratches and scrapes on her own person, Erin pushed herself up before Mason could get his bearings. The moment she rose to her feet, she stood above him so she'd have the upper ground, which he realised instantly.

Flushed in her own desperate need to get back to her mission, she thrusted her body weight into a punch which forced Mason down to the ground. A splash came from the waters when his body dropped into it, and a sigh came from Erin when she could finally take a breath again. Before the water of the lake could whisk his unconscious body away, her aching legs dragged her pained body to where he was, her boots kicking up the water with each frustrated step she took to get to him.

Although she was panting for her breath and bleeding from her nose, she crouched down beside the man. After placing her fingers on his neck and checking that he was still alive, she stood back up and took a breath.

"Fucking hell." She grunted and stretched her arm before crouching down again.

That time, she grabbed the material of his shirt and used it to pull him further away from the water. While trying to remain as gentle as she could, she dragged his unconscious body up onto the land and rested his head against a pile of leaves. Finally, she took off her jacket and laid it around his torso, tucked the sleeves under him, and stood back up.

She spoke to him, even though she knew he wouldn't reply, "stay there."
