Chapter 4

I DO NOT OWN TWILIGHT

With Renee's attention on the road I decide to go through Bella's purse to get her phone. With some knowledge about Twilight; I know it's early to catch Charlie and the reason is that I don't want to start school as soon as I get there. That's one thing I want to change if I'm still in Bella Swan's body when I get to Forks.

Bella doesn't have a password on her phone which I found strange, because Renee seems the type to go through her daughters things, but that all leaves my mind when I see the date on the small screen.  January 1st, 2005.  Okay, 2005...that seems right.  Calm down I mental tell myself and I find Charlie's work number in the contacts and I press the call button finding it easy to operate such an old phone and I'm thankful it only rings twice. "You've reached Chief Charlie Swan, how may I help you?"  I smile recognizing the voice right away from the movies.

"Hi, Dad it's Bella." I say with little excitement to stay in character and it isn't too hard to pull off because I am actually excited to talk to him. I hear the radio being turned down and I know Renee is going to pay close attention to my spontaneous phone call to Charlie no doubt.

"Oh. Hey, Bell's." He chuckling then continues. "Are you calling to say you've changed your mind?" I hear the slight disappointment in his voice and of course I look out the window to hide my face since what he said made me frown, because that would be his first thought about Bella calling.  I know I'm still frowning when I think that Bella being a piece of a shit daughter for not calling her father just to say hi or ask how his day is. I also know for a fact that Bella forgets about her mother when she moves to Forks and it's Charlie who ends up hearing from Renee first and he tells Bella to call her mother.  This will not happen with me being in her body if I have anything to say about it.

"No Dad, I'm calling because I was hoping when I get to Forks that you'll let me take a week off before I have to start school, it's so I can get myself situated or acclimated. I also need to do some shopping if I can't find any winter clothes today while shopping with mom.  I would also like to spend a little time with you before I have to start school, if you can manage that?" I explain everything in one go and he sighs like he's relieved that Bella wasn't changing her mind.

"Uh...Okay, I'll have to call the school then." He says awkwardly and I know he already registered Bella and he probably did it as soon as he could, like yesterday since it was Friday and the school wouldn't be open today.

"You don't sound too excited. I'm sorry, I should have asked sooner, knowing you, you probably already have me starting on Monday." I say smiling internally because I'm guilt-tripping him while being apologetic at the same time.

"Uh. No....It's not that. Um... I still have work after I pick you up and I have to work next week, but I can try and end my days early and we can spend the rest of the day together next week if you want." He says and I cheer inside thinking mission accomplished and I know he's trying to not make me feel bad, because I know for a fact Bella started school as soon as she got to Forks.

"Okay, sounds okay, but I still want the week off though. I can't wait to see you, but I got to go now, Mom and I are going to see what I can find to wear in Forks. I'll see you tomorrow." I say since we are now parked at the salon and it was a small white lie because I want to keep the hair a secret.

"Okay, say hi to Renee for me and I'll see you at the airport tomorrow." He says sounding excited now.

"I will.  I love you. Bye, Dad."

"Bye, and I love you too kiddo." He says and we hang up at the same time and I chuckle.

"Okay, I was thinking while you were on the phone that we should first go to the tattoo shop first, because I know it will take time for them to draw up what you want and we can come back here to get your hair done in the meantime.  Also, its the best tattoo place I know in the area." She says once I put the phone away and she turns the car back on and pulls out looking excited and she doesn't mention anything about my phone call which I'm grateful for because I don't know if I sounded like Bella when she talks on the phone to him.
