Elliot was scrolling through Twitter when she found an odd tweet posted a month or so ago from an odd user

Jessalyn. . .why did that name sound familiar? She scrolled through their tweets before she found the linked youtube channel and watch their videos. The guys were charming and funny but then they mentioned a name that caught her attention "Dr. James Corenthal"
That caused her to write an email to them
"Dear EverymanHYBRID crew,
My name is Elliot and I wish to inform you that I have information on your spector of interest, Dr. James Corenthal, as we were neighbors. I would be willing to meet up sometime to discuss it and I think I still have some files somewhere from when I was his patient if you wish to see them
Yours truly,
Elliot A. Laurence"
She sent it and it almost immediately got a response
"Hello Elliot,
I will have to talk with the others about a time and place to meet but we would be so grateful for your help : )
Thanks for reaching out, Evan"
She smiled. She could help someone before the monster stalking them took another life. She knew that faceless suit-wearing prick well. She had a special hate for him. So if she could help try to stop him, that would be a win in her book. A week went by before they decided when and where to meet and Elliot was excited. She didn't exactly know how to explain this to HABIT so she decided she wouldn't tell him and sneak out when he was out. There was one problem, Lazarus but as long as she was armed and in the public she knew he wouldn't come near her. She put a few files and a small binder in her bag before heading out.
She put on her shoes and then heard a clearing of the throat Shit Habit stood behind her
"Where ya going?" he asked looking her up and down
"Hoagie Haven. . . why?"
"Cuz you've been awfully recluse for the last week"
"And. . . what of it?" Elliot shot back at him. She was gonna be late if he didn't stop asking questions and interrogating her. He frowned, clearly not pleased with how she responded.
"Fine but if you're not back in an hour I'ma come get ya"
"Fine, ok, whatever" she left and borrowed Nick's car, not like he was gonna use it.
She got to the little hoagie store and heard her name being called
"ELLIOT! OVER HERE!"
She turned and saw Jeff waving at her from the table. Vinnie looked at him weirdly and Evan pulled his hat down, clearly embarrassed by Jeff's yelling. Jeff got up and met her halfway pulling her into a hug. Elliot stood there kinda confused
"Holy shit Ell, I thought you were dead"
Then it clicked, how she felt familiar with the name Jessalyn, and why Jeff was acting like this. She grew up with Jeff, they went to the same elementary and middle school.
"Fuck Jeff I didn't recognize you, did you eat a lamp post or some shit? You're so tall"
The two of them walked back to the table and Vinnie smiled.
"Seems you two know each other" he commented, "Evan said you knew something about this doctor"
"Oh yeah, He was my psychiatrist and therapist when I was little" Elliot pulled out the folder with her name on it and placed it on the table, opening it "at the time I thought he was kinda batshit but then I realized he knew what the hell he was talking about"
The four of them talked for a while before they decided to head home. Elliot stood in the parking lot lighting a cigarette.
"Do you need a ride?" she turned to see Evan.
"Oh no, thanks though, I can walk,"
"Ight then," Evan said and then seemed to space out
"Hey. . . Um I heard about Jess, tell Jeff I'm sorry he's going through this,"
"She's dead,"
". . . How do you know?"
"I saw it happen," Elliot noticed the flash of red in Evan's eye and Evan's voice became deeper like Habit's "and you're gonna wish I did the same to you" Habit hissed. He had found a new vessel. Elliot froze. No point in running.
"I-i'm sorry Habit, it w-was an accident, I just l-lost track of time," she stuttered watching him carefully. He grabbed her wrist pulling her through the door to Hoagie Haven. They were suddenly back at his house and he shoved her forward. Then she realized something and thought aloud
". . . Habit's eyes are purple, not red,"
as she finished her sentence, she felt something collide with the back of her head.
