Habit put Elliot in the spare bedroom, wrapping her in blankets to warm her after her laying in the snow unconscious for a good 15 minutes. He pulled up a chair next to the bed and then felt one of his cats rub against his leg, purring. Habit thought for a minute before picking up his cat and putting it on the bed. The little black cat mewed softly, kneeding the blankets before curling up and purring. Habit sat in the chair he had pulled up, resting his forehead on his interlaced fingers.

I shoulda followed her. I shouldnt've let her leave the house. This is all my fault.

Normally Habit wouldn't hesitate to lock someone in his house. He didn't care about locking Nick in. . . But this kid, as reckless as she was, was important to him. He felt his face redden at the thought, HABIT didn't like feeling vulnerable but he felt. . . Comforted by her presence. She was the first person, that he got along with, in a long time that wasn't scared of him and he wasn't about to let that faceless freak or some shitty demon take his friend away. He stopped himself. He couldn't just let himself care about this random person. He didn't care about her at all, he reasoned, she was just useful.

"Habit?. ." he almost jumped when he heard the soft voice croak.

"I'm right here kid," Habit said as he clasped her hand in his.

"I might have stayed out longer than an hour" she smiled softly. He laughed as she squeezed his hand gently.

"Kid I'm just glad you're alive," Habit sighed "can you tell me what happened?"

"I went to meet up with some friends on the internet and I well. . . Lazarus found me and possessed one of them and I thought it was you," Elliot stopped for a moment "I was running away and this monster showed up"

"He calls him self slenderman," Habit said.

"You know him?"

"Unfortunately," he said in annoyance.

"I was just trying to help them, to get away from him," Elliot muttered.

"Who?"

"The people I met up with, they're being tormented by him,"

Habit put his hand on her back as she hugged her knees.
"I don't want anyone to have to go through what I did because of that fucking monster," she said tearing up.

"I know kid, I know, but he can't hurt you here,"
It's just an act, I'll dispose of her when I'm done

Habit got an idea, he could use her to spy on the guys while he made preparations.

"I can't directly interfere but maybe you could help them, I could tell you how to undermine that tall assholes plans," Habit said.

"Really? Thank you Habit, you don't know how much it means to me" Elliot smiled.

"Really kid. I'll teach you everything I know and that piece of shit won't know what hit em,"

"You're awesome, Habit,"

"I know kid, now get some rest and bunny here will keep ya company,"

Elliot laughed softly "you named your cat bunny?"

"Shuddup and get some sleep kid," Habit smiled.

Habit closed the bedroom door behind him. He understood why Elliot wanted to help those boys, he understood that she would hate him- no it didn't matter if she hated him, it's not like it would hurt his feelings, she'd just be less useful if she knew he and that faceless freak were working together to torment the so called "EverymanHYBRID" boys, and he understood how destructive he would be if things didn't go his way.
